Jora huffed. "No one should have to prove drawing's not useless. For Pete's shake! There are a lot of famous painters who were commissioned by kings and queens." She didn't like it when people thought the thing that saved her for most of her life thought it was useless. "There's nothing wrong with wanting to be good at other stuff besides drawing. I bet you're good at swimming and that could become useful." She shrugged not knowing what else to say.

Mr. Duskrade sit at his desk as he fixes a stack of papers his ocd clearly showing as he tides up his desk. Watching as a few students walk in he judges who willbe the bad and good kids this year. He also takes in their height, because he will put the shortest in the front while the taller ones go in the back. That does not include the bad kids he has a whole row for them. While these calculations go on in his mind more students walk in because they do not want to be late. ~~


Von waits patiently for the shy girl to grab her things so that they can get to animal class, even though he was nervous on the inside he looked calm on the outside. Lets just say he has a really good poker face from playing go-fish, because he wasn't allowed to play poker. He drifts of wondering how his family is doing because he had no friends in russia. ~~

Ashton sits at her desk with her head phones on the symbol for call of duty:ghost on the sid of them sticking because the symbol was white while the headphones themself where black. The song angel with a shot gu softly blast through her headphones so she could hear whe the teacher starts talking so she would know when the class would start.

Kala grabs her bag from her seat and looks at Kaya and Kali. She looked from Von to her sisters "Von this is Kaya and Kali," She said gesturing to each as she said their names. "And This is Von." She said to her sisters. Kaya spoke. "We best head to class. I got a vibe that our teacher doesn't like tartiness." Kaya started for the door with Kali following her, the middle of the three hated making anyone mad.

Orion smiled as Jora started to get worked up. He wasn't the only one who thought of art that way. "Swimming is more of a past time for me. What about you? Your good at more things than painting, that's for sure, like being able to tell how to make people people feel better," he said, grinning, and reached in his bag. He pulled out a metal figurine of a chinese dragon with water and fire wrapping around it. He squeezed it, wondering why he had brought it out. "It was a gift from.... a friend. I don't know why I'm showing this to you now. It has no relevance to what we were talking about. Another reason why I'm bad at talking."

Jora looked at him. "No I'm not. You're just saying that..."She said putting her hair behind her ear. She admired the figurine. "That's a beautiful figurine. Did your sister make it?" She asked hoping he wouldn't say anything about what she had said before. She looked at the figurine some more loving the way the flames and water curved around it.

Von smiles at the two sisters " its nice to meet you, so what kind are you if you don't mind me asking"he ask softly. He slows his pace down so he won't pass them,his long legs making him walk faster then most. He takes small steps so he is walking with the three sisters as they talk to each other in a friendly way of course.

"Ha! You just proved my point. You're good at being humble," he said, happy to have found a loophole in her statement, and telling her that he thought she was good at stuff without getting her upset. "Besides, I've only known you since this morning," he said, surprised when he realized he had only known her for a few hours. it felt more like a few days. "I never make friends this fast...." he said. Then realizing she had asked a question, he said, "No, actually it was one of my two friends, but she... got sick," he finished, not wanting to tell her the end of the story.

Kaya smiled at the boy. "I don't mind at all, but it's kind of confusing about what we are..." She said trailing off. "So what are you?" Kaya asked after she recovered. Kali looked at Von and smiled brightly because that was just about all she could do. Kala was trying not to become all shy as She normally did when Kaya was around to talk for her.

Jora didn't know what to say. She hoped she hadn't just brought up bad memories for Orion. She didn't know how to react. Her mouth opened a few times to say something only to close again. She didn't think Orion would want to dwell on it but he might think she was insensitive if she just waved it aside "I... I..." She stammered but couldn't get beyond that. Great. Good going, Jora. Maybe he'll at least just ignore you now instead of avoiding you.... Not that there's much difference between the two...

"Same sickness I had, but worse. That's why I hate my eyes so much. My other friend, he left the valley a year before I did. We write to each other often though," said Orion. He realized that it must be hard for Jora to respond to what he said. After all, she hadn't been able to say anything earlier. He didn't know how to make it easier for her to talk. "At least I had friends though. And I still do," he said as he put his satchel on his desk and slipped the figurine into a pocket inside it next to a picture of him along with two kids, a girl and a boy. They were all grinning and laughing. Orion wondered if Jora could see it as he quickly zipped up the pocket and put the satchel back under his desk.
(Shoot! I just realized I said his sister made it in an earlier post. I need to edit it.)

Jora still didn't know what to say. "I-i'm sorry. That must have been awful, but you shouldn't hate your eyes..." She said almost whispering. She looked down again as he was putting his figurine away. "I wouldn't know what that feels like to lose a friend... The closest I have gotten to that was the little rat in the drawing....." She said remembering how awful that was. "And you better not saw anything negative about you eyes when you visit. My mother will be all over correcting you." She said giving a half smile hoping to change the subject back to something more positive.
