Micah laughed and started running his fingers through Ray's hair, smiling fondly.
Janet nodded quickly and waved at Micah and Ray as she and Austyn left.

Ray flops a hand in an attempt to wave goodbye, small and choppy purrs growing gradually louder and stronger as Micah understood what he wanted and followed through being an amazingly awesome person.

Micah continued to play with Ray's hair, humming a song softly.

Ray knows the song and almost joins in before deciding that purring would get in the way so he kept quiet apart from his purring. He closes his eyes, leaning against Micah in the way cats tend to do, so if Micah moves, Ray will fall over.

Micah continued humming, closing his eyes and smiling as he played with Ray's hair.

(*wondering if I should interrupt the moment with chaos* Hmmmm... *thoughtful noises*)

Ray's purring pauses for a moment before continuing, his mind having strayed from the zone of comfort and security as it thought of what was ahead, where next to no where would be exactly safe. He hugs Micah close and buries his head into his shoulder, trying to block those thoughts out.

Micah held Ray close. As if he knew what Ray had been thinking, he said, "you don't need to be afraid. We'll have each other, so we'll be okay."

There was a shout, the only warning they got before a small shadowy like figure with super long fingers dashed past, snatching a few things from the table before darting away. Ray's head snaps up and his purring stops as he follows the creature with his eyes. He was up in an instant, summoning his dagger and chasing after the greedy creature. A Nimmt. It took whatever it could get its fingers on.
(*takes bow*)

Micah grabbed the nearest sword- it certainly wasn't his, but oh well- and followed Ray, catching up to him rather quickly. "What is that!?"

"A Nimmt. It's... Just don't let it grab onto you." Ray says, instinctively going to open his wings to fly and cut off the Nimmts retreat.
The Nimmt sees its pursuers and laughs, seeming to enjoy the chase.
