I rise in the early morning, just as the sun is coming up. I breathe in the cold morning air, noticing that I left the window open. The window Ellios climbed through. I look over at him. He is still asleep.
I take the opportunity to change out of my old tunic and into the nicer shirt I bought from the markets. It is made of thicker, dark blue fabric, and the sleeves are long. I also change into a loose-fitting pair of black pants, made from the same thick fabric as my shirt.
I decide to wrap up my forearms, my palms, part if my calves, and ankles with a long roll of white cloth so I don't have to worry about the baggy fabric getting in the way. I then slip on my leather boots and bracers (which I traded my lantern for) over the wraps. I put my hair up in its usual braid and put away my bedroll, all the while trying to be as quiet as possible to not wake Ellios up.

I groggily sit up, my hair sticking out in just about every direction.
I blink blearily and rub my eyes, looking around confused. I remember that I'm in Mei's inn room. I spot him quietly moving about the room, probably trying not to wake me up. I look out the window, and judging by the position of the sun it's about 9:00 in the morning.
"Mornin'," I say sleepily, rubbing my eyes with the back of my hand again.

"Good morning." I say, taking a seat in a wooden chair across from Ellios, "I often find it hard to sleep with sun in my eyes," I continue, motioning to the window, "So I have been awake for a while." I cross one leg over the other, my ankle resting on the top of my knee.

(By the way, he's completely non-threatening when he's sleepy xD. It's his weakness. He's just completely adorable, and it's probably the one time he'll accept physical affection.)
I blink at Mei.
"Don't talk to me, I'm still asleep," I say, before flopping back onto the bed and pulling the blanket over my head, muttering something inaudible into the mattress.

(when it comes to me irl, sleepy is the only time you should be afraid of me lol)
I let out a small snort, suppressing laughter.
"Well then." I say dramatically, "Be that way." I reach in my pack and take out an apple--one of the few fresh things I have packed--and gently toss it onto the bed for Ellios when he feels like being awake. I grab an orange for myself, trying to peel it into one spiral.

I slide my hand out from underneath the blanket, snatch the apple, and slip my hand back under.
I eat the apple completely hidden underneath the blanket, and then I slip the apple core out, placing it on the bedside table next to me.
I grumble something close to a thank you, and then I close my eyes again.

This Ellios was not the same as in the castle or last night. His edges were gone, seemingly filed down by sleep. I could appreciate the normalcy.
"You're welcome." I smile, succeeding at peeling my orange without breaking it. I eat one piece at a time, watching people bustle around in the streets below and picking off the stringy white bits of my fruit.
"You know if you want to do something today, you might want to think about getting up soon." I say gently, not looking away from the window, "We don't have long until noon and by then the day will be half over."

I grumble and grab the pillow, placing it over my head.
"No, I'm sleeping," I say from beneath the pillow. I'm beginning to wake up, but I'm also refusing to accept it. Some days - actually, most days - I just don't want to get out of bed. Life is hard, especially living on the run. I just want to sleep, and I feel safe here, which is strange. I suppose it's because Mei is here, watching over me while I sleep.

My grin grows wider.
"Aw, come on! I already got dressed." I say softly, poking the pillow with an outstretched finger, "I have bracers and everything." I shift in my chair a bit as my hand returns to my lap, "I'm certainly no bird and I don't eat worms, but I at least try to be punctual."
By now I have finished my orange. I set the peel on the dresser next to the apple core.
