Vern
Vern inched forward, bowing his head to the Luna. He looked up when she started talking, nodding at her words. He smiled, panting a bit after the run. He did tilt his head when he heard he was a special case, was something wrong? Maybe he had done something wrong, he felt his tail lower a bit at the thought. Then he heard he was leader material and his ears perked up, him a leader? He was shocked of course, not the news he was expecting. He barely registered her question, not answering right away. Then he finally registered it, shaking his head, still too shocked to ask any questions.

ALPINE AND DARK CRY
the alpha padded down the rock to join them, now that the sun had set. "yo, Vern. you cool with being the next beta? we want you as our beta, seeing as you are... well, we have our reasons." the huge male laughed, understanding the pups surprise. "well, kid, im leading the night patrol, so i'll be off." he called, turning to a shadow and floating to the edge of the hole where two glowing, lava wolves (Vulca and Vulcan) were waiting. Alpine smiled at the small pup, then left.

Vern
He bowed his head again as the Alpha came over. He question caught him a bit off guard, because he was surprised that they would trust him to do such an important job.
"I... yes," He finally said, his voice still a bit shaky with shock, "I mean I am. Have a good patrol."
He watched him leave. Then he dipped his head to the Luna as he turned and walked to his den. He was still a bit shocked, but he pushed it away as excitement filled him, he was beta! Or at least he was training to be. How exciting.

"I came here at my own will. I am not a spy and I am not here to attack anyone. I am here to hunt and that is all."
Jaylin said, staying low, trying not to seem jumpy.

Steels ear twitched when she explained herself. He was pretty shocked she came this close to the border at her own will.
'I guess there are some stupid loner's out here.' He said to himself.

lance yawns, and rolls over to get more comfortable. SNAP, a twig breaks and he jumps up remembering that he is never safe. he picks a direction and starts walking. hours later he hears other wolves, he sneaks over to see what is happening. he sees a wolf, just a pup(Vern) playing around. he sits and watches him for some time remembering his times of youth.

Rose knew she had to punish he some way so she bit her ear piercing it "now go and next time they catch you near the border then ill let them deal with you"she said turning back to walk to the den "i guess loners can be stupid" she muttered and kept walking

Steel nodded as Rose headed back.
"Ill make sure she leaves, continue with the patrol and report to Rose if you find anything else." He said.

When she did that she twitched a little.
"Can I not leave myself? Surely I don't kneed to be watched like a puppy."
