"My parents got it for me," Izzy replied sharply. She didn't mean to sound as defensive as she did, so instead she tried to keep her voice soft as she continued. "It was my gift on my sixteenth birthday."


"If you two keep arguing," Taylor cut in five minutes into their argument, freezing right in the middle of the trail to regard the two boys with her steely blue eyes. Her hands were planted on her hips as she gave them her best glare. "I will leave you out here without a map or make one of you carry me all the way back to camp so I don't have to walk."

Rylan just rolled his eyes at the two of them. He'd chosen to stay a bit closer to the back of the group as well. Getting involved in the argument seemed like a lot of work.

"A gift? And you didn't have to pay a cent? How rich are your parents?" He asked, astonished.

Jack snickered before bursting out laughing. Oliver honestly didn't get what was so funny. Plus, Oliver could handle a map, so...he wasn't really all that threatened by it.

Definitely. Especially with Oliver and Jack, because they would surely just drag Rylan into the argument

"It's a car, of course it's going to be expensive.... alright, fine. I know, it's really expensive. They just have good jobs. They're almost always working, so I guess it makes sense." She shrugged, trying to appear nonchalant.


"Care to clue me in on what's so funny?" Taylor inquired, but the corner of her mouth quirked up in a smile too. "Or, even better- want to tell me what you both were so vehemently arguing about?"

Rylan rolled his eyes and gave Victoria a look that said 'are they serious?', before looking up at the trees again.

"Welp, guess I wouldn't know how that feels. But still, if they have such good jobs, then why work all the time? I mean...c'mon, you know?"

Jack only keeps laughing, soon doubling over from it. Oliver only shrugged. "I can tell you what we were arguing about but not what's wrong with him," he said, pointing a thumb at Jack.

Victoria only shrugged, tilting her head so her hair covered most of her face again, her eyes going back to the ground.

"That's the same question I have." She let out an awkward laugh, head leaning against the window. "Still haven't gotten the answer. But it's fine, I guess."


The brunette eyed Jack with what could only be classified as bewilderment. "Thank you, Oliver, for that insightful reply. You totally answered my questions." After a pause, she added, "Is he laughing at me or you?"

"Well, that's okay. I mean...at least you have parents. Parents that give you super nice super expensive cars," he said, trying to lighten the situation at least a little

Oliver shrugged. "No clue." Jack just kept on laughing, his laughing growing silent because he was getting so out of breath

She nodded, turning away from the window to look at him. In another attempt to keep the conversation away from serious, she added, "Look, you haven't crashed yet. That's good!"

"Whoa there, you done yet?" Taylor stood next to Oliver, Victoria, and Rylan, watching Jack as his laughter died down. "And are you going to tell me what you found so funny?"

"Har-har. I'm not that bad of a driver, you know. You need to not have so many trust issues," he said, only joking

Once he had finally caught his breath, he said, "You!"

Izzy grinned. "Well, to be fair, you know how expensive the car is."

She sighed, and reached up to play with her ponytail. "Do I even want to know why you found me that hilarious?"

"Yeah, but then why on earth would you let me drive it if it's so expensive? That seems like something an airhead would do, not gonna lie."

He only shrugged. "That would be up to you."
