Coolio! I guess all other monsters will be sorta NPC if needed. Anything else we need to establish?

Okay. No true resets because that would mess up everything, but saves and reloads (or soft resets if you're still a Pokemon heathen like I am) are okay. That said, Frisk has special permission to die occasionally.
I'm restricting Sans too in saying that he's aware of relaods, but doesn't actually remember events prior to the reload. He can still read expressions to get the general jist, but he can't get details from that. Also, absolutely zero bad times. He can fight if his life depends on it, but not to be all heroic and junk because there's no reason for him for him to be all heroic and junk.
Let's keep Chara and Gaster out of this for now.

Uhhg...
Can they be aware of their battle themes and the general battle system since game mechanics are treated like laws of the universe?

Sure, but I meant Flowey cant turn and break the fourth wall and talk to us.
Plus, it would be funny for Megalovania to be playing when Sanss eye starts glowing or something.
