Felinus growled softly as he missed the last tire he was aiming for. He was Definitely out of practice. He ran back a few yards to give himself some distance before speeding towards it again and leaping. This time he managed to be on target. Racing around the tire pile he came back at it jumping off the sides of several other piles before leaping at the tire hoop. Me made it through but clipped the edge causing the tire too fall down behind him. His tail lashing in annoyance he stood up. He let out a sigh and rubbed a paw across his brow. It would probably take more than one nights practice to undo months of inactivity. His whiskers still tingled, but as it did not feel like his usual danger sense he was not too concerned. He sat on a nearby barrel for a short rest to catch his breath.


Espio looked at Sonic. "A bad feeling, what kind of bad feeling exactly. Bad as in unusual, bad as in Something's up with the chaos emeralds, something bad with Chaos energy itself, or just plain planet dooming bad."
Vector and Charmy just stared at him before the bee spoke up, "Um bad is bad right, how is there a difference?"

"Sonic's 'bad' is my irregular. It's not normal. Probably not the Emeralds as far as I can tell. Even then, Sonic could've told you; He has one." Knuckles clarified before Sonic could make something up.
"That said, something is triggering it." Knuckles went on. "And it's my job to..." He trailed off and turned slightly, staring off into space.

Luna just went home, she couldn't remember what it was, but she wasn't taking chances
When she got home, she just flopped on the bed for a nap

(Sorry about the wait. Getting ready for the summer festival and getting ready for my Nephews birthday this weekend have left me pretty busy.)

Espio nodded thoughtfully while Vector and Charmy looked puzzled. "So something unusual is going on somewhere?"
"And we haven't noticed it?", Charmy piped up unhelpfully.
The other two looked at their teammate in exasperation.
Espio sighed, "As busy as we've been with Vector's current interests we haven't noticed anything unusual. We'll keep an eye out anything that develops.

Felinus finished his run for the night. Once again heading to the old subway to change outfits. He arrived home, closing the door behind him and yawning. It had been a long day and he had work to do tomorrow. He lay back Idley wondering about the feeling in his whiskers. He closed his eyes remembering his old companions. Realization sent him sitting bolt upright. The tingling in his whiskers, he was sensing another Neko! Not just any Neko. but one with sixty whiskers and powers like him. Tired as he was he reached out with his senses. He couldn't tell exactly where and he wasn't too familiar with the power signature. It wasn't someone he had been close to, but familiar enough that he might have met them in super form once. His first impulse was to go out searching, but the weakness he felt on standing revealed how low his energy levels were. With a sigh he lay back down. He would not be fit for anything if he did not get some sleep. Then tomorrow after work he might just go looking. Slowly his eyes closed and his breathing became deep and even as he drifted into slumber.

As she slept Luna dreamed of nekoline
She was remembering more about her past every day
She was having a nightmare about the last time she was there
She woke up in a cold sweat
She got up and looked at the clock
Then got a drink

Knuckles gave a grateful nod. "If you see anything of interest, let me know." The Chaotix may be goofy, but for all of thier quirks, the echidna had to give them some credit; they were very reliable.
"Yeah, thanks a bunch!" Sonic chimed in. "Oh, and Vector, just give what I said a shot, okay? Vanilla's a great person, y'know, so I don't think she'll turn you down unless she has plans already. Tell me how that goes, alright?"

Vector folded his claws against his chest, "We'll keep an eye out for strange things. The cat will have to wait for now. I still don't trust that guy though."
Espio cracked an eye, "Good looks like they've gone home anyhow. Seeing as its late I suggest we get some sleep and tackle this problem tomorrow."
Vector snapped at him, "What and leave a case waiting until tomorrow!"
Espio shrugged, "From what knuckles said it's nothing too urgent and we will need clear heads to figure this out, besides Charmy is already asleep." Sure enough the bee was curled up on the grass fast asleep.
Vector sighed, "Alright fine lets call it a night, but first thing in the morning we start investigations."
Espio nodded to Sonic and Knuckles while Vector scooped up Charmy. "We'll let you know when we find anything."



The next morning Felinus cracked his eyes open slowly. The sun was barely peaking above the horizon. As much as he could use a few more hours sleep, his client had insisted on an early meeting. Yawning and scratching his arm he forced himself to sit up. A quick breakfast of cereal and he would have to be off. Making sure his hat was in place he stood up and shuffled to the closet to grab a fresh change of clothes.

Thunk.
At first, Knuckles only heard it on a subconcious level, stirring very slightly on the branch he had selected to rest on the previous night. Sonic had offered a spot at Tails' place, but the Guardian declined, being used to sleeping outdoors. The tree itself was conviently planted right in front of the fox's house.
Thunk.
That said, the noise was starting to get his attention. And Chaos, was it annoying.
Thunk.
What was it, anyway?
Thunk.
Okay, now it was getting on his nerves.

With a sigh, the echidna opened an eye and glanced down. His gaze met Sonic's, who smiled up at him as his eyes sparkled in amusement.
"Rise and shine, Knucklehead!"

Knuckles groaned audibly. He had the urge to wipe that smirk off Sonic's face, but at the same time he didn't really want to move. "How do you have this much energy so early?"
"Easy. I don't stay up late into the night staring at a shiny rock."
"First of all, it's not a rock. We've been over this. Second, my top offender of theft is Rouge, who is a bat, which are nocturnal."
"I thought the top offender was Eggman."
"That's not my point."

Sonic merely chuckled in respose. "Aw, I'm just messing with ya. Come on down; I'll get us some breakfast."
"You're cooking?" Knuckles asked with a grimmace. (The hedgehog was notrious for burning food.)
"No, I was gonna pick up bagels or something." Sonic replied.
"Er, sure. In a bit; I think I'm gonna wash up." The echidna mumbled. "You go ahead."

With a shrug, Sonic dashed off and into town. Knuckles huffed and closed his eyes again.

the rest of the night had been better
Luna woke up and smacked her alarm clock, then winced
that hurt
she got out of bed and went to the kichen, he popped some sasage biskets in to the microwave
she got herself something to drink then ate her biskets
she took a quick shower then changed into her normal outfit
then head off to work
