Apparently Alec didn't realize he'd handed the human a spellbook rather than a storybook. It had really been his intention to give him something interesting to read. He scouted out a dead tree and proceeded to turn it to lumber for the fire. As he made his way back home, he spotted a rabbit. It made him have a hankering for some stew. He lifted up a hand and a dart appeared there. It took a bit of effort to summon, but nothing too hard. The hardest part was throwing the dart. He aimed, whispered the word, and flung his hand out suddenly. The dart went flying, the motion of his hand made the rabbit try and dart away, but the weapon sore true. Soon he was marching through the door, a bunch of logs under one arm and a dead rabbit being held by the ears in the other hand. "Do you like rabbit stew?" He Asked Gale.

He nearly jumped as the door opened yet as he saw it was the elf he smiled lightly. "Of course, I don't say no to food." He smirked. But he want to help nonetheless. "I can help if you need it, I hate to just sit idly while someone does all the work for me." He stood slowly, supporting himself on the chair as he limped to the fire. "Maybe I could skin it for you, chop vegetables? Anything really."

Alec raised his eyebrows as he realized he must've startled Gale. "Dont worry. No one comes here, so don't expect anyone but me, really," he said as he set the rabbit down on the only empty table next to the wood burning stove. He looked his patient over and seemed happy that he could at least limp. "I suppose you can skin the animal and get it ready to cook. I'll deal with vegetables and whatnot." He walked towards one wall on the far side of the room that was lined with cabinets.

"You got it captain." He nodded taking up the rabbit and heading out side. It was pretty easy to skin the animal though getting rid of the evidence was a bit more challenging. He tossed the parts further into the woods before returning with the skin and the meat. Humming a bit he set to cutting up the meat making sure there wasn't any bones in the meat before tossing it in the pot to cook. "Did you want the skin or would I toss that too?"

The elven mage pulled out some vegetables that were being stored in one of the cupboards. There was a spell on it meant to keep things cold. Like a refrigerator, but magically created. He pulled out his chopping knife and started working, only glancing up when Gale returned. He had a pot on the stove, filled with delicious broth he'd made before chopping the veggies. "I'll keep the fur. You never know when something like that will come in handy. He stooped down to put a lot on the fire.

"Right then I'll hang it over the fire for now." Gale smiled. He couldn't help but look as the elf bent over. Why was he like this? Now looking at the elf's butt! Really?! He turned away face beet red. "Anything else that needs doing?" That could have been worded differently...too late now! He sat back in the cair for a moment as his ankles began to hurt again.

"Dont overstress your ankles. The ointment won't work then," he stated simply. "Just sit and let me do it. You are my guest after all." He reached up to a shelf above and to the right of the stove. It was lined with jars filled with what must've been spices. He pulled down a couple of them and gave a generous helping of each into the stew. He stirred it, then put a lid on the pot. "Now we let it cook."

"While we wait why don't we get to know one another a bit better? Maybe we could tell each other a bit about ourselves?" Gale suggested before picking the book up and handing it over to the man. "Here you are. I tried reading it but I'm not that into spells." He said with a kind smile.

Alec nodded in agreement before looking down at the book being handed back to him. "Oh, oops. I got it mixed up with my storybooks. I just kind of grabbed one." He walked over to a table already stacked with books and put the leather bound object on top of one of the piles. He then turned to Gale. "So, getting to know one another. What would you like to know?" He said as he pulled a chair over to his human companion.

"What kind of magic is it that you study? Is there one specific type or do you study them all?" Gale asked leaning back in the chair. Casual build up to the big question. He had nothing against a man liking men, that wasn't a problem he just wanted to know if he was reading the signs right. Was this really what people did when they had crushes or was it just him?
