"And what not? Just ask for the leader of the magic users and make an alliance. It can't be that hard after all you are a mage yourself." The elf said backing away from the man. Dorian clenched his fists some, furrowing his brow. It wasn't that easy. He had to keep his powers hidden, he had to keep his love hidden, he had to keep Stella hidden. He had to hide his true self. None of that was easy.
"I made a promise I have to keep it." He snapped. How many times must they go over this?!
"But you already broke it when you let me live." Dexion said defensively. "And when you chose to study magic on your own!"
"I have to protect my land, I have to make sure that magic doesn't destroy its very foundation." He turned from the elf as he said this taking the crown from his head. "I think I found a way to do it, without anymore killing. It won't be easy, or painless but it won't kill anyone."
"You aren't going to tell me are you? The plan that is."
"No, not yet. I-i can't have you standing in my way." It hurt to say but it was the truth. If they were seen together on the field he would have to kill the elf, or die trying. He turned back to the elf putting a hand on his cheek. "I'll fix this. I have to fix it." Dexion was silent for a moment before nodding.
"Just don't do anything stupid alright?"
"I promise."
"Good, and you owe me. For this time and last time. I'm keeping a tally you know." Dorian chuckled lightly at this.
"Oh I know."
"You're going to have to try really hard to make it up to me."
"I know."
"And you owe me a shirt!"
"As you wish, Amatus..." Dorian smiled. The pet name, used only when he was in the company of his love. Again they fell into each other's embrace, hugging one another before again parting. "I'm sorry for the small cage..."
"It's fine, I'll live. Just don't forget to let me out again alright?"
"I won't." With that the elf crawled back into the cage, allowing himself to be locked in. Sighing and placing the crown back on his head before stepping out the door.

Before Mikesha had left because of shift change, he heard the creature in the dungeon calling out about food and where they were. He got tired of being pestered so he whirled around and shouted, "Where do you think you are? On the beach? As for food and water, only if you shut up!" Then his shift ended and he left. That brought him to his new post outside the king's personal torture chambers. As soon as the king edited, he bowed deeply. "Your highness, do you mind if I attend to you?"

"Be my guest." Dorian said locking the door behind him. He would be back later tonight to let the elf out. "You haven't been here the entire time have you?"

Mike gave a polite shake of his head. "I only just arrived a few minutes prior to your exit. I was hoping to have a few questions to ask. There's something that does not make sense to me."

The king tensed some. "Ask away." He said after a moment of thinking. 'I'm going to regret this aren't I....' he thought to himself.

Mikesha cleared his throat as he thought of everything he wanted to ask. "You say we are preventing a war by killing all the magic in the land. But by doing this, are we not initiating war anyways?" He looked to his king, seeking answers.

Instant regret. Hugging some he wiped a hand over his face before putting that hand under his chin. "It's not just about stopping a war, it's about bettering the future of our land and of the entire world. You remember reading about The Great Fire right? Did you know that was started by a mage unable to control his power? He was showing off and poof! He and his entire village went up in flames as well as half the country. It's my job to stop something like that from happening, even if it means killing off ever last magical creature to do so."
