Neo finished his meal and trotted over to Ember, he wanted to sleep with her rather than the other pups tonight, he snuggled against Ember and yawned sleepily.

ember got a bit startled as the pup laid back down with her. something clicked and she felt the sudden urge to protect him at all costs. she licked behind his ear as he yawned, as wolves tend to do to cubs. Since she as of age to find a mate, she always wanted to have a pup of her own. every other female in her pack had at least one pup to love and care for. She wanted to have the same accomplished pride and love as the other females did when they saw their pups grow up. she felt a void in her heart fill as she looked down at Neo. She fell asleep again with Neo by her side, and that unfamiliar warmth helped her drift to sleep more peacefully then she could before.

Neo snuggled even closer, it felt like he had a mother again, it had been so long since he had felt that loved feeling.

Time skip to morning

Neo woke up to the sun warming his fur, he yawned and looked around sleepily.

ember had gotten up very early as she did every morning. she had gone to find some rabbits or something like that to eat. she happened across a stream and grabbed three fish for neo and her to eat. when she returned ember saw the little pup looking around as curios as ever. she walked to him, and plopped a large salmon in front of him, nudging it towards him, urging him to eat it.

Neo smiled and dug into the fish, soon he was licking the bones clean.

ember, after finishing her fish had one left, she got up, fish in her mouth, and walked away. she looked back at Neo, and flicked her head froward signaling that she wanted him to follow her somewhere.

Neo hopped up, bounded over and jumped onto her back, he was still a little tired and didn't really want to walk.

ember gladly carried the pup on her back as she walked away from his pack. she came after about ten minutes, to a cave lined with glowing mushrooms colored blue and lime green. the ceiling was covered in little lights of the same tint. in the back right corner, there was a little bed like mat made of feathers, bear fur and sheep skin. in the other corner, there was a small fox that ember placed a fish in front of. ember went back to the mat and gently put Neo down on it. she nuzzled him playfully behind his shoulder before going to the mouth of the cave, and sitting silently on a pile of straw.

Neo didn't stay on the mat, he dashed over to Ember, he climbed onto her and curled up gazing outside the cave.

ember smiled again as she felt small paws on the back of her head. she never felt so weak. she felt like she was fully a slave to his cuteness and will. she waited as she then saw mist fly into her cave as he did every morning at this time. she had a carrot ready for him. he eagerly ate it. ember was curious as to how Neo would react to seeing a rabbarow for the first time (mist is one of ember's pets, his picture is in my profile for her. rabbarrow is the name of the species i came up with). mist came and landed on ember's back once he finished the carrot. she waited eagerly to see if mist and neo would get along.
