She was raging mad now. " And you're so careless to laugh about it? My parents stayed behind so others could live, so I could live! " She was shaking and fighting back tears. They had lied all along. " I am disgusted! " She was almost yelling at the top of her lungs now.

Mariko woke up in a panic. Her wires were completely shut off. It has been years since she hadnt had them. Immediately from within her pod, she started hyperventilating. The comforting glow of the wires embedded in her skin had gone dark. It must have been so long for them to have shut down. They had a backup reserve... How long were they out? She remembered learning about the ship. ^AI, please help open my pod.^ She thought it would work, and waited for the automatic door to open.
