Umm... Dobhar just offered the open beta spot to Eci.
She could be the last pup to have been born in the pack (which was quite a few years ago) and doesn't really have a rank yet since she's an adolescent.
Perhaps her mother was the previous beta so she is expecting the role to go to her.
