Luff was irritated at being touched but didn't let it show he hurt all over he reached out to take the book but his legs started to give out and he fell again he rolled on his side the pain was so much his body shook her sat up and coughed up blood..." I'm fine this is normal" he said to Mia "in fact this is actually pretty mild last time it was much worse" he said motioning to the eye with the eye patch Luffy smiled at Mia "it wasn't your fault this happens pretty often" Luffy smiled motioning to the hundreds of scars on his body

Jack reached out and took the book from Mia and gave her a weak smile

"Well I can and so can Saber" and as if to prove it the Tiger completely disappeared into her shadow and reappeared beside Manfred before giving a lazy roar she smiled at the tiger his large Saber teeth showing as he yawned she reached into her bag and pulled out a odd naraled dead looking plant it was decrepit looking like a small tree from a forest that had been dead for hundreds of years she handed it to Manfred "here this is the plant the fruit comes from" she turned to Nightmare and said whenever you want one of those fruits just focus on the plant and whiny it will grow a fruit for you in about two minutes" she said with a smile she waited for Manfred to take the plant

Manfred looked at it skeptically but nodded and slowly took it, looking it over now that it was in his hands. "I appreciate it, but why do you offer such gifts? I have not done anything for one. The giving of such gifts can make one a little skeptical in accepting them. I have yet to run into someone who gave a gift and not ask for something in return, usually that something is much more than the gift that was given." Manfred had little trust in people. Nightmare was the only being to ever earn his trust and that was a horse. He just couldn't fathom the concept of kindness without some sort of string attached.

"Because Nightmare likes them" she said with a shrug she reached her hand out to the stallion in hopes he would let her pat him "I have always loved horses but he is... Amazing and very handsome she said as she marveled at the stallions shiny coat and red glowing eyes "I helped Raise dread stallions where I'm from but none were as fantastic as he is I would love to ride a stallion as amazing as him one day your lucky he chose you I would love to have a familiar like him one day...we only have one horse like him where I am from but she is very distrusting of people so I can only get arms reach to her" she said a bit of longing in her voice

Mia shook her head. "But you didn't need for it to happen again." She said. She heard a small noise coming from the book the monkey had just taken from her. Her cheeks redden more. "I'm sorry Jack. May I see that book again? I think I left my notes in it..." She asked holding her hand out to the monkey. She felt awful that he had died because of her. Sheptha smiled and pranced around the monkey glad he had gotten up.

Jack gently gave the book back to Mia a little confused he looked at Sheptha who was prancing around him unsure of what to do he didn't know who or what this strange creature was but knew it liked him for some reason Luffy smiled at jack and pulled the pistol he had given Mia out of the bag and handed it to Jack the little monkey turned it over in his hands like a curious child with a new toy he touched the spot where Mia had touched it and he remembered her it was the blue and gold glowing pendant he had gave Sheptha caught his attention he reached out nmand touched and began to chatter Luffy saw this and spoke to Sheptha directly "You must really be special for jack to give you something so important" Luffy reached into his bag and handed Mia a pendent that matched Sheptha

Mia took the book and leafed through it grabbing pages and pages crowed with flowing handwriting in purple ink. She folded the pages in half and placed them in her backpack carefully. Sheptha smiled at the boy again. Sheptha stopped moving and looked at the monkey bahing a 'thank you' to him. Mia held the book back out to Luffy. She stared down at the pendent. "No. I couldn't. You don't even know me." She said putting it on top of the book as she shoved it toward the boy. She didn't like all this talking and almosted hoped she wouldn't have to talk to him again but she was handing him one of her books so she felt the need to get it back after he had read it.

"It's not my choice it's Jack's" he said taking the book and putting the pendant in her hand "for whatever reason you and Sheptha are special and Jack chose the two of you to keep these" he motioned to the pendants

The blank stare in Jack's eyes faded and he stopped chattering he looked at Sheptha and then Mia recognition in his eyes he smiled at Mia and climbed on Sheptha back he chattered in Sheptha ear softly prompting him to speak

Mia shook her head holding it back out to the boy again. "He doesn't know me either..." She said a small unnoticeable smile on her lips. It vanished quickly. She picked up her other bag in both of her hands and rocked on her feet looking down. She didn't know what to do, she was scared that whatever she did it might hurt Jack again. Sheptha bahed at the monkey walking around the two teens.

Jack and walked behind Mia and made a small pushing motion asking Sheptha if that would be a good idea Luffy in his current state he was far too weak to push Luffy anywhere but this girl was smaller and he might be able to accidentally nudge her into his arms

Luffy looked at Mia for a time she was pretty he thought but so shy he knew jack and Sheptha had been pushing them together since the moment he caught her outside he smiled to himself a goat and a monkey as Friends the expression monkey on your back came to mind and he almost laughed "Jack wants you to have it and so do I" Luffy said bending down so he could see her face he smiled at her freckles they made her look like a little girl " Jack won't stop until you accept it he is very persistent"
