"Yeah." He nodded in agreement. "But we have to find it first. It might be buried under all the rubble."

She nodded.
"I think you're headed towards it. It's toward the middle and I think it'll be easier to get there through the castle than by going outside. Let's keep going." She started on, walking as briskly as she could in the dark.

He nodded and walked beside her. He easily kept stride, considering his legs were longer than hers. "Do you think that there could be multiple things trapped under debris?" He asked just to break the silence.

Her step hesitated momentarily as a thought of older collapses came to mind. She was sure she didn't want to think about that too long.

The came the next room they passed into was better lit. It faced away from the front of the castle, and seemed to look out over an enormous courtyard. As they picked up their pace, and entered the room they noticed a large open, mostly open floor-open because all of the furniture was attached to the ceiling! The light fixtures, on the other hand, were suported from the floor.

In a moment of stupidity she hesitated again, thinking that perhaps more of the building had collapsed and this was simply proof. She realized however, that the chances of another room falling perfectly into place to align with doorway of the darker room, and having all of it's furniture and pillows glued so they stayed up there, were virtually non existant. She resumed her pace, though she looked around as they went noting some of the bizarre attributes.

Myles took Roxy's silence as a 'I don't want to know' kind of thing, and he wasn't about to push it. After all, they had technically met earlier that night.

He found it strange, the fact that one of the rooms was lit up. As far as he knew, they were the first ones that had been here in what looked like...well, centuries. He moved over to the open space, not noticing that the furniture was attached to the ceiling. He noticed the light fixtures on the floor but dismissed it as some...weird medieval thing.

"What is going on here?" He asked no one in particular. "This is so bizarre. What kind of madman would put the lights on the floor?"

"I don't know," she admitted as they trekked on.

The upside-down room was lavishly decorated-though obviously still upside down. The furniture was fit for some sort of public party room or sitting room.

It had plenty of windows overlooking the courtyard, letting the natural light shine in much more brightly than in the darkened rooms or in the thick of the forest surrounding the castle. She wondered if the prior rooms had been as odd, but simply too dark to see by the light of her measely keychain.

"More importantly," she said as they neared the end. of the room, "is that furniture going to come loose and fall on us on our way back?"

They came to archway which led directly to a staircase.

(No worries! Don't feel rushed =)

Myles went over to one of the windows, pressing his hands to the glass as it overlooked the courtyard. He wondered the same thing she did: if other rooms were this strange.

He noticed that Roxy had kept moving, so he jogged to catch up with her, assuming she had gone through the archway opposite the way they had come in. He stopped short, realizing that a staircase was...right there, in their faces. Seriously, what was with this house?

He pointed the flashlight up the staircase. "Think they're safe?

She shrugged with a look on her face that showed that she was just as thrown-off by the strangeness as he was. "Who knows if any of this is safe."

They went up the staircase that led directly and only to a stairwell backdown again. At the top she turned around and sighed.
It was darker again without the natural light.

She continued. At the bottom of the downward staircase were three separated enclosed options. A miniature stairwell on the right went upward. The one straight ahead was a full staircase upward. The one to the left appeared to be multiple stories worth of stairs downward. Because each stairwell created it's own hallway, the summit of each stairwell was not visible from the others.
"Which way do you think we should try?" She asked.

"Fair enough," he murmured. He turned slowly in a full circle at the top, letting the light from the flashlight shine everywhere he could get it to. "Whaaaaat is going on here?" He asked, clearly getting more and more freaked out by the minute. "What is wrong with this place?"

After examining his options, he said, "I vote, not the basement. That's where every horror movie goes wrong, and I am not about to be chainsawed in half by some ghost who wants revenge. Or trapped in here. Or crushed by the ceiling falling in."

She laughed. "I agree."
She led to the right. It continued as a maze of stairs. She took a left onto a large spiral staircase, but quickly turned around. That set simply ran into a ceiling with no discernable door.
She tried again at a stairwell that split in two--but turned out to just be two forks of the stairwell that met-still enclosed at the top. She came back down.

They heard the pathetic whine again.

She was getting frustrated. "This is taking too long....wait!"

She ducked to look up a different stairwell. "I think I see a door! Maybe that means we're out of this maze?"
