Hope sighed, "I swear, I should have seen this coming. If the lake is not frozen over the best that guards the water will kill you, end of story. I mean unless you want to test the theory out then go ahead. Kris, he will be fine, I'm surprised none of you have figured out my power yet," She shrugged and went to Candy, whispering in her ear.
Carter was surprised at Kris's reaction, freezing as he had no idea what to do. He hated feeling so torn like this, wanting to like him but pushing himself away. He knew what would happen, he always knew. He was destined to die, that's why Kris looked so pale, he had seen his death.

Kris felt him freeze in motion and he thought he'd done something to hurt the guy. He let go of him. "Sorry...." He said softly, but his hands didn't move from Carter's shoulders. They just stayed put, holding on firmly as if he didn't want to let go.

"I'm fine," He didn't dare say anything else, scared Hope would hear, "I... you should do as she says, I'll be fine," He smiled nervously, unsure if he was telling the truth or lieing.

He got a flash of what he'd seen and his stomach dropped, he didn't want that to happen. So he knew he had to practice, but why on the sweet little dude?! "Alright ... " His hands loosened on his shoulders and where gentle as they ran down his arms. He seemed to swallow hard before speaking. "Jump off that cliff."

"My power... hmmm, watch Carter, I'll show you," She said turned to Carter, who was walking to the edge of the cliff, for a second she saw fear show up in his gaze before the charm took affect and he stepped off the edge.
"Oh, I should probably save him," She ran to the edge, watching him plummet and tapped her stick on the ground.
He froze mid air, like time had stopped. He didn't move or fall. She tapped her stick again and time seemed to reverse for him. He flew back up and was back on the edge of the cliff. She pulled him back as she tapped her stick again.
"Uh..." Carter looked around, very confused, "What happened?"

Kris looked a bit pale, he seemed to be stuck in place. "Oh...gosh...wha..."
