"Well...you were right," she said, her tone dark as she fell into step beside him. "There was a guy in there wearing a Church of Angels cap."

He inched the faintest away from her...again. He still hadn't accepted her apology. He felt shoved in a corner and chained to a wall as he heard that dark tone, he honestly was trying his best to avoid tasting any emotions off of her. To try and give her some personal space.

"Also," she said, her voice now toneless, noticing how he had inched away, "the Mustang won't be ready until around noon tomorrow," she added. "He found a garage that has the right bolts, but he won't be able to get them until this afternoon."

Well her toneless voice only made him inch away again. "Okay..." He didn't look at her, all forcing himself to negotiate gone.

Well she better try again some time because he was pretty sad still and would probably finally learn to be hard and soon just only interact with her when needed for sure. But a simple sorry wouldn't give him back his world or books or corner or blanket. It would just be that...a sorry. All he truly had that mattered to him was that bracelet.

So he didn't truly trust her, he just knew she needed him because he apparently would be of use. But he assumed she'd just kill him once she was done with him, no reason not to. He was a hybrid that wasn't supposed to be possible and so there was good reason to kill him afterwards, who knows what destruction this creature could cause after all this was done!
