(Whew. Okay. I've prepared my feels.)

Shawn goes and sits next to Brook. Ian just so happens to be across the hall from them, watching and listening

Hazel watches Shawn sit next to Brook.
"Are you sure you want him here?" She looked a little concerned.
"Uh... I mean as long as he does..."

"It's fine. I'm not going anywhere," he replied.

Hazel sighs
"Shawn... This is a personal matter... I don't think you should hear it" She said calmly.
"I'll make sure Brook is alright with what I'm about to tell her, don't worry..."

Brook didn't protest, she kept silent. She felt Hazel was right, for some reason.

Shawn hesitated. Without Brook telling him to stay, he stood. "All right..."

Ian snickered from across the hall

Hazel waited until Shawn left, then looked to Brook.
"Brook... what happened? It's the first day of school and you already have a 'protector'? You have to stop doing this. You're going to hurt someone."
Brook didn't answer, she didn't know how to.
"Remember what happened to Austin? You used him for protection. And since he wasn't strong enough to protect you, you left... And you didn't even tell him you left, because you were scared" She said trying to make sense.
Brook's face got red.
"I couldn't protect myself! I didn't want to come home with bruises everyday, because I was just walking in the hallway! I-I couldn't stand it anymore!." She raised her voice, trying to make her point clear.
Hazel was unfazed by her emotions, she continued to speak calmly.
"I get it, but you can't 'use' someone just for you're advantage Brook. You have to commit to something more than just commiting to a bodyguard."
"I know that..." She put her head down.

(So basically she was 'using' guys to protect her from bullies at her other school and Hazel is worried that she might use him if she gets in trouble with someone... And the reason why she jumps almost every time he touches her is because she is afraid that she is going to be hurt... So that was a quick summary! ^.^)

(...I dunno what to say...my feels...I was not expecting that.)

Ian and Shawn were too busy arguing to even hear Brook yell

(Yeah... that's what my sister said. I showed her it before I replied and she said "What the heck..." XD)

There was a pause before Hazel continued.
"You have to stop. If anything happens I'll help you. If I can't... well I'm not sure. But you can always rely on me. Cause I know you would never 'use' me, I'm sure of it." She smiled at Brook, trying to cheer her up.

Brook nodded.
"Thank you Hazel..." She raised her head up and returned the smile. "I appreciate it"

Hazel continued to smile.
"Anytime."

(Well, I'm not exactly sure how to feel about that. On one hand, she protected herself from being abused. On the other, she abused others, using them.)

The boys kept arguing about something very stupid. Pudding.

(Yeah her past is confusing but I would pick her side. Cause it is pretty close to my past. So I can kinda relate)

Brook and Hazel looked over to Shawn and Ian.
"What are they doing?" Brook asked.
"They're arguing..." Hazel said, she was a little annoyed even though Ian wasn't arguing with her.
