Sam listened to the conversation between the two beside him, quiet while reminiscing of the very first glorious days after he escaped his one-time owner and the happy times he met Ben and Chloe and her siblings. Then he spiraled down into the memories of the labs, of the white walls splattered with crimson he'd called his prison for nearly two years. Sam remembered, kept every face of every animal he'd been pitted against for the sake of a human's sick entertainment, every struggle for his life against others like him who didn't want to be in the position they were kept anymore than he did.

The genetic testing the scientists had put him through, enhancing everything about him that they possibly could. Strength, his senses of smell, taste, hearing. You name it, it was improved upon. The 'tests' of the arena pushed every single one of them to the breaking point. Mazes tested intelligence and smell. Food filled with poisons tested taste. Rooms filled to the brim with silence tested hearing. Fights to the death... strength.

"Sometimes, the situation calls for it. Sometimes the ones we trust trample all over our hearts, smashing them to itty bitty pieces simply because they want something they can't have. They betray us for material things or even titles because their hearts have been clouded with envy. They betray the people they once cared for because they can't stand the thought of being anything less then the best, the one in first place," Sam said sullenly, recalling the reason why he went through all the pain and suffering he'd gone through.

The shadow of a familiar face, one that brought pain and pleasure in equal turns, danced across his mind.

She Flattened Her Ears She could almost feel the moments playing again in her mind " Copper Had always wanted to be Alpha, He thought I was To Soft To Lead, That I wasn't harsh enough..... Little did he know that I am That way for a Reason, The Injections Enhanced Many Things, But we All Had Something That Made us Tick... and one day in lab It Happened... I ..I Just Sapped Its Like I wasn't there at all... I Kept talking about Playing a Game... and then I'd count to three Before Attacking... After that I didn't really trust myself Without my collar and Charlie, And For good reason " She glanced at the pu who looked as if he had seen A ghost " Day 98 Injection Number 16...... Locked and Loaded.... Is what they Labeled Yours.... Kato and Copper both Passed out and didn't complete it..."

Sam's heart just wouldn't stop dropping, everything they went through seemed so similar between he and Katana. Could they have possibly went through the same things? Surely they could have. His injections could just have been a rudimentary form of whatever shots she got. Chances were that he was one of the guinea pigs the scientists had tested the drug on for safety before they handed it over to the government for their use.

Sam could remember the distinct flashes of red that obscured his vision during some bouts in the arena, could remember the smell of copper in his nostrils and taste the metallic tang of blood in his mouth without any problems after coming back to consciousness in the bloody ring.

She lowered her head and stuck it under Charlie's hand She had only ever Snapped like that outside of Labs and That's when she killed Copper honestly she didn't even remember doing it She didn't truly know if he was dead, but she remembers the bloody mess she woke up too. She shook the image from her head and stood up turning her attention back on the pup " Hey Kid take care of Charlie... He's not like the others, and if her ever sleeps in stick your nose in his ear..... Oh and I assume your new Alpha has a different saying but, No matter How rough the road we Stay by our Partners Till Death or Force Do Us Part.... no matter what may come The stronger your Connection the more powerful you are as a unit"

Inside the GCPD building, Jackie pulled on the pant-leg of the female doctor, startling the woman.

The woman looked down at her, crouching down to scratch behind Jackie's ears, "Well, hello! How did you get in here?"

Her words got the man's attention, though he didn'the turn from his task, "Johnson? What do you mean?"

"There's a cat in here, Torrance! Look! It's so cute! A bit rough looking, but still cute!" she replied, attempting to pick Jackie up only to have her move away, "Aww, what's wrong? Do you not want me to pick you up?"

Jackie sighed, wondering why a majority of humans insisted on coddling her kind.

She turn back towards the door of the room while looking at the woman, hoping she'd understand.

Thankfully, the male seemed to have a brain on him and got the meaning, "You want us to follow you? That's usually what that look means, Johnson. I'd know, I grew up with seven of them. Come on, before the kitty gets agitated."

Katana Rotated her ears "Seems Like Jackie got someone.." She said softly

Jackie could help but thank whatever deity was on her side at the moment. She walked hurriedly through the police station, back through the double doors leading to the parking lot with the doctors following behind accompanied by a couple others who were curious. The men who she'd run passed were talking animatedly with some other officers, but immediately went for her when they spotted her. She ran between them so they didn't catch her, making them knock their heads together and getting a few laughs from those trailing behind her.

"Better watch out! The kitty's on a mission!" a younger male officer snickered at their misfortune.

Jackie ignored them, waiting rather impatiently for them to collect themselves again before they continued on their way. Once they did so, she lead them up the driving ramps to the closed garage door, keeping to the side so no one got ran over by any unexpected cars coming through. They waited for one of the officers to message for the door to be opened, not expecting to see one of their officer lying in a bush surrounded by canines on such a chilly day.

"Is that Charlie!" Torrance asked, surprised yet still collected, "Well, don't just stand there! We need to get him to the infirmary! Bring the poor animals inside too, they've gotta be freezing their tails off by now!"

Katana Rubbed against Torrance's Leg, She was glad Charlie would be in good hands and she was in a place she could talk to the other handlers so they could be released after a meal. She went up to JB who was in the crowd of officers a new pup sitting diligently by his side. Katana flicked her ears in different directions and making several motions, before The guy Replied " Not a Problem Kat, we'll take good care of him and I'll Send Jake if there are any updates" he said gesturing to the Pup that had been with Charlie the whole time. Katana nodded and flicked and wiggled her ears some more. JB chuckled "Sure I bet You and Your friends are Starving, And being that we have an overstock of kibble you're welcome too it, and I'm sure Jenny has a can of tuna in her desk for your Feline friend" Katana dipped her head and padded back to the others " I know I have put us behind schedule, But I feel like I owe you this At the very least..."

Sam and Jackie sat next to each other, not daring to part from one another for very long lest they couldn't find each other again in the surrounding humans and their dogs. They were approached by the German Shepherd and Rottweiler that Jackie had run into on her way to find the doctors.

The German Shepherd squirmed, uncomfortable, "I just wanna apologize for getting in your way earlier. Had I known why you were in here, I wouldn't have attacked you like that."

"Apology accepted," Jackie smiled, "Though it probably would have helped if I'd announced why I barged in so suddenly. There just wasn't the time to do so because I was on a time crunch and couldn't afford to dilly dawdle. So, I suppose I should apologize for reacting so harshly. You just doing your job after all."
