(*Rubs hands together* Maybe this'll help with that.)
Jora was a little amazed by that. "Well, you should. Their not creepy, at least not to me and here's why." She said putting the drawing of her parents in front of Orion her father's hassle eyes stared back at him along with her mother's bright red eyes. "Only she was born with red eyes." She took Naomi from Orion and changed her back to the blue that she had before. "Okay, here you go."

Keegan stared down at the floor, flinching slightly as Ilandere came into contact. He remembered he was supposed to be nice now, having briefly forgotten he was in the company of someone else. He tried covering it up by saying "Yeah, well it's not as though I can do anything about it now." Not until I learn more anyway, he thought to himself, remembering why he was here.

Tadi laughed. "I'm sure your manners are better than mine!" he exclaimed, failing to believe that Phinesa was impolite. Haizea rolled her eyes, already unimpressed with her gawky and seemingly oblivious twin. "Oh that's a great start isn't it?" she mumbled dryly. At least it doesn't look like he's much of a threat... yet she thought. Tadi raised his eyebrow at this, but refrained from commenting. "What'd ya think of breakfast?" he asked both of the girls

"She is a chinese dragon, right?" Orion asked as he took the pencil. He wasn't looking at the pencil as he took it. Instead, he was focused on the red eye of Jora's mother. "She doesn't look creepy at all. In fact, she looks quite pretty," he said. Why did I say that about the chinese dragon? She cried over it this morning, yet I bring it up again. Stupid me. He leaned over his drawing, coloring part of the iris of Atlanta's eye. He left parts of it blank to color in a lighter blue. He used the same color to paint the jaguar's eyes and Atanta's simple, teardrop shaped necklace. "You never told me your birthday," he said, looking up from his drawing suddenly and grinning.

Jora didn't mind Orion asking about which of her parents was the chinese dragon. "Yeah. She looks beautiful in person." She dragged the tips of her fingers across the faces in the picture. She stopped a little surprised by Orion's persistence to know her birthday. She said without looking up. "I don't want you to feel obligated to do something big for me on my birthday." And there's nothing to celebrate about the start of a sentence. She thought to herself, thinking of how accurate that word was for what she went through. She looked over to see him grinning. She looked down at his drawing and saw it starting to come to life. Maybe Naomi really is the only reason I'm any good at art.... She thought to herself, both of Orion's drawings looked like they might start breathing at any time.

"What if I just wanted to be able to wish you a happy birthday and get you a present?" asked Orion, handing Naomi back to her. "Gosh, I don't want to keep asking you to change it, but could you turn it black please?" he asked sheepishly. He looked at his drawing, inspecting it. "I wish I could get the textures right," he said, glancing at the drawing Jora had given him. "Like how you got the feathers and scales just right...." He tapped Atlanta's clothes. "If I just added some shading..." he thought out loud, trying to think of ways to improve the drawing. "So how did you get into drawing?" he asked, curious to know how Jora figured out she liked it.

Jora didn't want to try and explain to Orion she stayed quiet and took Naomi and made her black like he asked. She didn't hear his compliment as she tried to think of what to say to him regrading her birthday. She heard his question though and tried to answer that at least for him. "Well, I honestly can't say. I've been drawing as long as I remember. I've always loved doing it. It was an escape from the world and it's much easier to draw someone then talk to them." She started fiddling with her sleeve trying to come up with anything that she could change the subject to that might put the whole birthday thing to rest.

Orion shaded the lines of Atlanta's clothing, while he listened. Once again, avoiding the birthday question. Well if she won't tell me her birthday, I'll just make one up for her. He finally finished the drawing and gave Naomi back to Jora. "Have you made any drawings without using Naomi?" he asked, wanting to know when she got the magical pen. Who knows, maybe she had always had it. He placed the drawing next to Jora's drawing of her family.

Jora looked at his drawing and took Naomi back from Orion. "No, not recently anyway. My mom gave me Naomi for my tenth birthday. But before that I didn't get to keep any of my drawings....." She said trailing off as she recalled how all the other kids decided to 'disinfect' all the paper and they snatched her drawings from her. They even grabbed her whole first sketchbook and 'disinfected' it too. (And the acursed block's back!)

"Why not?" asked Orion, genuinely curious. It didn't occur to him that something bad might have happened, something that would upset Jora. He pulled out a regular pencil and took the picture he drew of Jora. In the background, he added a hearth, burning brightly. He tilted his head, and added a candle on the edge of the hearth. Why did I draw that of all things? A hearth and a candle... I get the strangest ideas sometimes. Maybe it's hereditary. He thought back to all the daring plans Atlanta had come up with, usually involving dangerous stunts and other mischievous. And yet I always had the crazier ideas.
