"You did what?" Holter asked.

Val sighed, "I dived off a tree and thought that Ghost would change into his true form, but it didn't work." she said disappointedly, Tails did a face-slap, "You've go to be kidding me." he groaned.

Holter flattened his ears and his tail quivered. "You're okay though, right?" He asked, clearly concerned for Val. "You're not hurt, are you?"

Val shook her head, "No, Ghost did Chaos control, though I'm guessing he's really angry at me for that." she said looking at the ground, Tails sighed, "I'd be mad too." he said folding his arms.

Holter sighed. "I'm sorry to hear that..." He whimpered sympatetically. "I'm just glad nobody got hurt,"

Just then, a sharp cry was heard overhead. Holt glanced up to see an elegant reddish-tawny hawk circling over head.

Tails looked up and saw the hawk, Val thought that the hawk would be Ghost so she slunk over to a tree and sat down, she hugged her knees not wanting to get a talking to from the spirit.

The hawk looked down at the group and swooped towards them, silently alighting on the ground in front of them. No breeze was made by his wings. Tails? What brings you up here? The voice gave Ghost away.

Tails smiled, "Well, I wanted to find Sonic and Shadow and guessed they were up here, say did you know that Val is Kit's daughter?" he said gesturing to Val who looked at the ground.

Ghost looked in Val's direction. Now that you mention it, she is a lot like Cockatoo*, huh? He said with intreauge. Hope she doesn't have her nerve, though. Holter flicked an ear curiously. "Who's Cockatoo?"

(*Yeah. You know he kept the nickname.)

Val looked up, Tails chuckled, "Cockatoo was Knu-Ghost's nickname for Kit." he said almost revealing Ghost's real identity, Val stood up quickly, her sharp hearing had heard the mistake.
