"Not Jaypaw- he isn't allowed to leave camp for the next few days. Take Sorrowpaw and ask Aloepaw to watch the two kits. The warriors going on patrol will be Spotfur, Otterheart, Duskstreak, and Suntail. Tigersnarl, Thistlefire, and Flame will stay near the front of camp. The apprentices will wait in front of the nursery and everyone else must go inside their dens. Just for now, if dogs are this close." He nodded for the deputy to go organize the clan, as that was her job. "I will stay here Burrshadow, you must lead the patrol this time."
Burrshadow nodded.
"Yes Ravenstar." Burrshadow left to go gather the patrol. She ordered Jaypaw to tell Aloepaw to watch the kits, all the apprentices to stand in front of the Nursery, and help everyone guard camp.
"Spotfur, Otterheart, Duskstreak, Suntail! Come with me. We are going to investigate. Sorrowpaw," Burrshadow looked at the apprentice. "Follow my directions. No matter what. You got that?"
"Aloepaw?" Jaypaw said, entering the medicine cat den. He looked at Ravenkit and Claykit, who were talking away. Ravenkit saw Jaypaw, and went running up to him.
"Dad!"

Spotfur grunted, he was hoping to have a cam day but it obviously seemed like something had to go wrong.
Sandheart could feel kits squirming around in her stomach and winced as they bashed around in there.
SorrowPaw nodded and waited for further directions.
BadgerKit saw JayPaw and gave a small smile and went up to him.
"Show us where you found the kits. But don't go more than a fox length away, am I clear?" Burrshadow demanded.
Jaypaw looked at Ravenkit and Badgerkit. Then he sighed
"Listen to Claykit. Claykit follows Aloepaw's orders, and don't stray from any order Aloepaw or Claykit gives. Now go to the nursery. But before that..." Jaypaw whispered something in Ravenkit and Badgerkit's ear.

"Good. Everyone, look around and try to find dog scent." Burrshadow said. "Sorrowpaw. Get in a tree and stay until I tell you. If the dogs are nearby, they can't climb trees."
Jaypaw left the kits, then quietly exited the den. He had this... look on his face. This unreadable look.
Claykit bounced over. "Okay Ravenkit, lets go to the nursery! My brother said so." She bounded off after Badgerkit
