Melody exchanged a look with Janet, who just shrugged and beamed at Ray. Micah grabbed Ray's hand, squeezing it gently. Melody turned back to Ray and said, "they can't both be dead. Who's your godly parent?"

"I've taken over his role since he's gone." Ray says, trying to have this make sense. It seemed so simple to him, but to others... It's no wonder they may be confused about it.

Melody's eyes widened. "You're a god!?" This drew the attention of a few other kids and Micah played it off by laughing and reaching across the table to ruffle Melody's hair. "Of course not, kiddo! You're so creative," he added, making it seem like the four were just messing around together.

When you put it like that it made if seem like Ray was all powerful. Ray seems to shrink in his seat. No, not a god. A child of one god who died. And he took the role. Which when said that he's a child of the god he took the role of, it almost sounded like Ray was his own father. He smiles at Micah, extremely glad to have him in this situation.

Micah smiled back, and Melody frowned. "Don't patronize me," she said, looking completely serious. Janet seemed to go into her own world of struggling to pronounce the word 'patronize.' Micah just looked impressed that she even knew that word.

Ray apologizes to Melody, just in case, before checking to see if his frog was still there. Nope, it had hopped off at one point or another. He didn't miss the frog too much and he knew the frog probably went back to its home to stay safe. Ray frowns and hugs himself, wishing he had a home he could hop back to for safety. He shakes himself out of his thoughts and tries to help Janet learn how to pronounce it correctly.

Micah and Melody seemed to be having a staring contest, Micah looking mildly disturbed by the nine-year-old's intensity. Janet wrinkled her nose and finally managed to stammer out, "pat- patronize.. Patronize!" She beamed, laughing triumphantly. Micah smiled at her, finally looking away from Melody, who started drawing on a piece of paper with a pink crayon.

Ray applauds Janet's work. He was sure if he tried his hand at anything he'd end up getting them all wrong and it'd turn out weird. He decided to join Melody in drawing, but he chose a pen instead. At first it was just drawing lazy circles, but then he added more detail onto it until he had somehow drawn a pegasus?

Micah stood up, letting go of Ray's hand. "I'll be right back," he said. He turned and jogged away.
Janet watched him go, then looked at Melody. "Do you think he'll make a crown or a wreath today?"
"It's Wednesday, right?" Melody asked, mispronouncing Wednesday very poorly. Janet nodded. "Then he'll make a flower bracelet. That's what he does on Wednesdays. Crowns and wreaths are on the other days," Melody finished matter-of-factly, grabbing a purple crayon.

Ray nods his understanding to Micah and then hums in surprise at Meoldy's comment. "Where does he put all the wreaths and crowns and bracelets?" Ray asks Melody, hoping they weren't put to waste.
