"Sure." Ravenstar nodded, pointing the tip of his tail to the leaders den.
Jaypaw padded toward the leaders den, and entered quietly.
"So, after me and Sorrowpaw found he kits, and she brought them back to camp, I walked around. Their mother had to be close. And so I started smelling everything, looking for evidence of their mom. And I found dog scent. There are dogs on our territory."

Ravenstar's fur prickled and he leaped back up to his feet. He tried to remain calm, but then looked around. "Call you mentor for me, please." He said, then decided the apprentice should still have a punishment. "Now, no more going out without a mentor or another warrior, this day could have been worse. Because of that you're staying in the camp for the next few days. Same goes for Sorrowpaw."

Jaypaw's eyes narrowed.
"It was my idea!" Jaypaw blurred out. "Sorrowpaw said I was being stupid. I-I went anyway, and convinced her to come!" Jaypaw's fur rose. He would never be able to face his leader again, he can't lie about this! But... His tail lowered, but he said,
"Don't punish Sorrowpaw for my stupidity. Please." Then he turned and left to go get Burrshadow.

Ravenstar chuckled a bit at the apprentice. "Fine." He replied as the apprentice turned.

Burrshadow entered the den.
"Jaypaw says you want me?" Burrshadow asks. "If its about the rouge, then I just have to say, he's really nice!" Then she sat, curling her tail around her paws. She tilted her head.

"No, it's not about the rogue. It's about two apprentices sneaking out- one of which was yours -without a patrol or warrior, and scenting dogs." He said, his head tilting the same way hers did as his eyes narrowed. "Dogs. On out territory."

Burrshadow nearly fell over.
"W-What?! M-Maybe they are just trying to prank us? You know apprentices!" Burrshadow stammered. She sighed.
"Should I order a patrol to go investigate? I'll have to bring one of the apprentices to come and show us where they scented the dog." Burrshadow was already thinking of who she'd have to send. "I'd have to send a big patrol, leaving the camp unprotected if there is a dog." She pointed out. Burrshadow got up and started pacing. Oh boy, Jaypaw was in trouble!

"Not Jaypaw- he isn't allowed to leave camp for the next few days. Take Sorrowpaw and ask Aloepaw to watch the two kits. The warriors going on patrol will be Spotfur, Otterheart, Duskstreak, and Suntail. Tigersnarl, Thistlefire, and Flame will stay near the front of camp. The apprentices will wait in front of the nursery and everyone else must go inside their dens. Just for now, if dogs are this close." He nodded for the deputy to go organize the clan, as that was her job. "I will stay here Burrshadow, you must lead the patrol this time."

He nodded and bounded to the den looking around. He scraped some moss together and put his nest in the far back corner so he could get some quiet while he slept.
