Kate's heart rate wouldn't calm down because she couldn't stop panicking no matter how much she tried

She had a good reason to panic....because Luke sure wasn't going to give D an easy time.

D bent her upper half over and reached a hand in for the younger half dragon. She said one word very softly to her. "Out." And the little girl understood that one,nodding and tail wagging even more. She stopped giggling and stayed quiet as D turned around and started picking the lock with her tail. What she'd done to her own cell lock.

Luke wasn't smiling as he slipped close to D.The girl caught his scent and he knew it,because he had to jump back as she hissed and shot fire at him. "Ey~! Hows the pet doin'?" he said,moving away from the flame dying now on the cement floor. "SCCCCC" She hissed at him and he laughed,brandishing his taser. "Ah ah ah,I think we have some unfinished business." She shyed away from the taser. "Oh,looks like you still can't talk,mute still~?" She shook her head. "No,I can talk.Dummy.Very bad bad Luke."

Kate felt like something was very, very wrong, trying to find something she could distract herself with

"Bad~? Aw,the biter can't swear still." he shoved his taser at her and she leaped back but she whipped her tail at him and he barely ducked. "I s...I swear i will end you!" "And I swore since that day you killed those other people that I'd keep you chained up and you wouldn't last long.Your a killer,you shouldn't be alive."
"You are cruel.I am a person.I am worth something."
"What~.That girl you met filling your head with junk?"
"She is kinder than you!" She lunged at Luke and her talons hit his chest as her wings helped her throw herself into him. But he pulled out a dagger and raked it down her hide. She grit her teeth but didn't cry out,she just punched him in the jaw and he kicked at her but it did no good. He finally slipped out from under her,though and stabbed her wing basses,she hissed and used her fangs and bite his shoulder,sinking her fangs in and inserting a paralylizing poison. Right into a large vein.But not before Luke raked the knife down her spine,finally making her scream out.

4HD called little broken cries to Luke to tell him to stop. "Pees!Nuuu!WUUUUKE!!!!"

He shook his head though,head locking D till she knocked out his knees with her tail.

Kate wasn't sure why she felt like something was so wrong. Maybe she should've followed the tracks D left behind

That probably would have made it harder for D because then she'd be trying to get Kate out as well as 4HD.

At some point D used her wings to fly and bashed Luke to a wall,growling. "You are not a bad person.You have chosen a bad path.You are the one who is the monster,scales or not." Then she threw him to the ground but...didn't snap his neck as he spat blood to the ground and dragged away from her a bit,left leg broken now and limp. "..." He was silent,she'd stripped him of all his devices,even the taser,and now was burning open the lock for 4HD,the door swinging open slowly and the little girl waddling out and hugging D's right limp.
D's left dragonic hip was stabbed and bleeding,her tail raked from the knife and her back of her shirt open and exposing where Luke had raked along her spine.But she smiled to 4HD and picked her up,holding her close.
"Owt! Owt! Soown said efuw...now owt!" She said,speaking of how D had said they'd get out soon,of how she'd promised to get them out.And she'd kept that promise.

She walked down the hall and began back to sneak out,harder now that she was trailing dark scarlet blood,and she smiled and kicked Luke in the head as she walked by,making him curl into himself.

Kate had chewed her nails down way too far, all of them bleeding

It was harder getting out,having to kill multiple times and hide 4HD in corners for a bit as she fought. Her wounds only got worse but she avoided most burns and shocks,very good at what she did and having a fairly large pain tolerance. She finally got 4HD out and hid in brush for a while outside till they lost her,then she started back through alleys and things toward Kate's house,mostly worrying about the blood trailing behind her and how much a mess it would make,but didn't stop smiling for 4HD who was very excited of being out.

Kate had resorted to staying upstairs, hugging herself as she sat on the bed, wondering if D would ever return

It would have been good it she'd stayed downstairs because soon D shakingly knocked on the door,a soft sound as she still carried 4HD who was smiling brightly and her little stubby tail wagging like crazy.
