Kate wanted to follow them but decided against it, not sure she wanted to find out what happened or where she had gone

That was a good choice,because D was walking toward that door,knowing the winding halls and corners and dead ends like her own scale pattern,and knowing full well of the possible death on the other side of that very door.

She continued to pace, and after every five minutes passed she kept telling herself to wait five more

After the first five minutes D had soon made it through the door and snuck left,having knocked out at least 3 more people at this point and stripped them of their weapons and contact devices. Eyes pure dragon and at this point not about to knock any one else out,she was now triggered by this place and angry...and ready to kill if attacked again.

Kate paced upstairs for a while before going back downstairs, rereading what D had highlighted

If she looked closely she would see that the highlighter ink lines wavered,as if she'd been...shaking as she'd highlighted them.

Kate figured that she must've been scared, which only made her only more worried

D soon made her way up to the floor where 4HD was being held and knew at this time she would be awake and still in her cell.She heard the sorrowful,pained and scared sounds of the creatures around her. As she stalked along one siren reached out to her and cried a high note of sorrow and begging. D avoided eye contact and ducked away,she was listening for one sound in particular. And soon she found it.A soft little giggle of a little girl playing with something. She carefully stalked toward it in another hall.

But Luke stalked after her.

She had been pretty scared,but she hadn't admitted it to herself.

Kate began to chew her fingernails until they started to bleed, too

D was in trouble.She didn't know it,and surely Kate wouldn't know either.But the human girl had right to worry,and she wasn't the only one who'd be bleeding.

Luke knew about the danger with D,but he only saw her as the danger.No longer as a person.
He stalked after her,slinking along quietly and wearing his lab coat,those navy blue eyes watching her with their tired gaze. He had a taser in hand but also some other weapons if needed.

D soon made it to 4HD's little cell and the little brown haired dragon girl lookd up from her little corner,where she was chewing on someones watch she'd stolen during a feeding session. Her green eyes stared up at D for a moment before she dropped the watch and squealed happily as she stood,little talons wobbly but she came over to the bars and reached up to D. "Thee ech Deeee!" Her little stubby tail wagged so hard that her little body shook side to side and she stumbled a little but still reached up to the 15 year old.
