"Y-yeah. E-every thing will be o-okay," Hexic dug his face into Corasi's shoulder, hugging her tighter.

"Everything will be fine. We're safe. Don't dwell on the past." She let him dig as hard as he needed too, because he was obviously in pain.

"I-I try not to... b-but it's so hard... and I still have forever to d-dwell on it!" Hexic tried to breath, but the tears were getting in the way.

"Shh. It's okay. I'm right here. If you really want to think about something dark, I won't be alive forever." She looked in his eyes. "Don't dwell on the past or the future, or you miss the present."

"I w-wish I were a human. Then it would b-be easier. It wouldn't l-last as l-long. The l-longest it would take for a human w-would be one third of w-what I have to deal w-with. At the m-most," Being a human would be easier than all of this.

"What did I just say? And everyone is where they are and what they are for a reason. Being a human isn't as great anyway." She picked up his chin and wiped his tears away. "You're going to be fine, just please don't dwell on that, try to think about the good stuff, and the stuff in the moment. Promise me that, okay?"

"I-I promise," Hexic wiped away tears and tried to calm down.

"Calm down... Everything's fine. You're a great Hexic. No one can replace you."

"That's true. No one is as good of a shapeshifter as I will be one day," Hexic smiled slightly.

"See, I got you smiling again!" Her wings folded onto Hexic. "You'll be the best shapeshifter ever!"
