"Well at least he's not asking us when we're gonna have kids. He could be saying, 'Youre not getting younger, you know'."

Those words stung Raven, and you could see the pain in her eyes. She forced a smile and laughed a little, " Yeah.. he could be saying that.. " Her arms crossed over her chest, she was trying not to show her pain but it was obvious that what he'd said had stricken a cord.

Ash flinched and immediately started to apologize. "I'm so sorry...I shouldn't have brought that up...especially not so early. I am so sorry..." he scolded himself for even saying anything near that subject. "I feel so stupid. Is there a way I can make it up to you?"

" . It's fine.. " Raven spoke softly, trying to just forget he'd said that.. she likely wouldn't for a good while, and it would probably hurt, but it wasn't his fault. Even if she had said it was fine, it wasn't, even if she had thought it was.

"No, Raven. It's not," he said, gently gripping her upper arms. "I said something that probably should have never been said after everything you've been through."

Raven didn't- or rather couldn't- look him in the eyes. She just nodded a little, not saying a word. She knew he didn't mean it like that.. that he had meant no harm.. but it still hurt.

Ash pursed his lips and let go of her arms, sitting in a chair. He might not have come here to make her feel bad, but that's exactly what he did. So much for being good company.

" S-so.. " Raven tried not to let the silence go on, " How exactly did you get Sawyer put in jail in the first place? "

"Well ha had a lot of charges against him, I just confirmed them."
