"Okay, fine. You win. Now let's go before the bus leaves without us."

"Good idea." She said in agreement.

He nodded and started to head out.

She followed behind him.

"Just stick close," he muttered as they neared the crowded part of the hallway. Angie(a stuck-up cheerleader) and three of her groupies stood in front of the lockers, chattering away and snapping their gum.

"I will." She replied.
She didn't like talking to others very much especially people like them.

As they neared the cluster of girls, usually, they would turn on her with their laughter and their ugly remarks. But they swept by them without so much as a glance, though Angie was in the midst of describing some random student's shameful retreat from the cafeteria.

"And then she, like, started bawling," Angie said, her nasal voice cutting through the hall. "And I was like, omygod shes such a loser. But what can you expect from an inbred hillbilly?" Her voice dropped to a whisper and she leaned forward. "I heard Amelia's mom has an unnatural obsession with pigs, if you know what I mean."

The girls broke into a chorus of shocked giggles.

"I can hear you. You really need to work on keeping your mouth closed and not open, you know, your voice gets annoying after a while." She sighed, happy to not let the remarks go away like nothing happened. But she did stay close to Robbie.

Robbie, however, tightened his grip and pulled Lia away. He muttered something under his breath, and there was a shudder that went through the air, like thunder with no sound.

Behind them, Angie started to scream.

Amelia looked behind her quickly when she heard the scream.
'I didn't scare her?...'
She kept up with him as he pulled her away.
