"Don't encourage his storytelling? What? But I've never heard such a wonderful tale as his before!" Jay acted flabbergasted. He rocked back in his seat and clutched at his chest as if she had given him a heart attack yet his eyes were always glittering in a jocular manner and his smile only grew. He rocks forward again and puts his elbows on his knees and his head in his hands.
Sparky took what Ashia said into consideration but then Jay's carefree manners distracted him. He ended up brushing what Ashia had to say aside as he grins back at Jay.
"What harm can friendly competition do? I'll participate. As for animals being in passive state, yes, they should be in passive state." Jackson says, smiling as Scarlet and Barnabus interact. "How I got my spirit animal? Eh, the story surrounding it is not a nice one, but it ultimately ends with me getting nectar and a friend of mine suffering the consequences..." Jackson shakes his head and Jay's expression abandons the normal cheer for a few moments.
"That's one story I won't be telling over a campfire or around a table." Jay mutters with a shake of his head.
Barnabus lowers his head so he's around eye level with the fox ad gently chuffs a hello. 'Sure, if you don't want it. Jerky is good. Jay makes better jerky than Jackson, but Jackson is pretty good at it himself. I'd offer you some honey, but I don't have any at the moment.'

Ashia frowns, "I have a feeling I know your story all too well then. Too many don't get the nectar. Maybe one of these days the bonding sickness will be able to cured or eliminated all together."
Justin put a hand on her shoulder understanding her meaning.
Scarlet gently gives Barnabus the jerky, I have plenty to spare. So if you don't mind my asking how is your bond with your human? The reason I'm asking is because my partner and I specialize in helping those with difficult bonds.
"If you really want to compete than I agree just remember not to exagerate anyone's skill leverl okay Sparky?" Ashia asks polietly.

"That would be a great day, when the bonding sickness is gotten rid of." Jay nods and amuses himself with clearing the dishes.
'Our bond is fairly good, I believe. Not terrible, though it could possibly be better. That's a cool job you and your partner have. I get to catch fish and honey, explore the surrounding forest, and help travellers. It's never boring.' Barnabus devours the piece of jerky given him and thanks Scarlet again for the piece of jerky.
Sparky nods his head when Ashia tells him to not exaggerate people's abilities. He pops to his feet and offers to help set up the archery field for the competition. Brandon goes to help him and Hazel trails after.

Justin goes to give Sparky, Brandon, and Hazel some help. This was going to over a hundred yards for some of the shots so he knew what Ashia would want. Seeing her pratice enough made him make sure he never underestimated her skill with a bow.

Scarlet nods once, It's really hard but normally worthwhile. Maybe while we're here you could convince your bond to let us help you both.

Sparky hasn't seen Ashia use a bow, but he's seen Jackson and Brandon use one and he believes that, even though he hasn't practiced lately, Jackson is the best and that it's impossible for him to miss his target. Brandon, Sparky has noticed, isn't proficient in using a bow and seems to be just starting to learn. Sparky accepts Justin's and Brandon's help, always wanting to do his best and get input to make sure he's doing it right.

'Sure! I can see what I can do. Thank you for offering to help.' Barnabus says, getting to his paws and shaking out his fur before heading towards Jackson. He tries to ask him about if he is open to letting Ashia and Scarlet helping them strengthen their bond. Jackson isn't quite sure what Barnabus is asking of him.

Ashia understands what Scarlet told Barnabus, "He's asking if you want help with your bond since you have someone here specializing in troubled bonds." Scarlet nods once as if agreeing with what Ashia had said. "It also seems as if Barnabus and Scarlet have become friends."

Justin shakes his head at Sparky, "Don't believe me watch Ashia when she shoots." He knew even without her spirit animal's help that Ashia would win for sure. He knew how often she praticed from before dawn to breakfast and if they aren't traveling after dinner until dark all without Scarlet's help.

Jackson smiles and nods when he hears the confirmation that Barnabus and Scarlet had become friends. He was glad they had since it's always nice to have a friend around - especially one you can relate to. "Bit uncanny that you can understand my spirit animal better than I can. I'd love to learn how to do that."

Jay is smiling as he returns to the main room once more to hear what the two were talking about. He had finished up cleaning the dishes. "If you beat Jackson at archery, you just might have to give him a few tips there as well." Jay says, always joking around.

Sparky nods his head, debating on whether or not he should believe Justin or not. He decided that he would have trusted Justin if he himself wasn't so intent on believing Jackson was the best. Once they've finished setting up, Sparky scampers to the contestants and told them that they'd set it up and if they wanted them to change anything. He's eager to proudly show off the work he did in helping set up the competition.

Ashia galnces at the furthest target which is about the size of a large deer, "I though I said medium sized deer."
"It's the only one they had," Justin spoke, "Besides it's furthest shot so let's be generous here."
Smiling she offers to let Jackson shoot first, "Five arrows alright with you? Closest to the center wins? If we tie move to the next target. Also Scarlet told me not Barnabus. We will have two judges one for each of us. I choose Justin as my judge for the arrows who are you choosing?"

Scarlet sits down calmly beside Barnabus, This should be intresting. I wish we could watch but they said we can't help. Do you think we can convince Orion to tell us what happened when we can come out again?

(Would you be okay if we dragged Olvan or Lenori in at Greenhaven? After all someone has to take charge of the Greencloaks and I have an idea for them later down the line. If you want to control one then I'll happily take the other.)

Jackson takes the offer and fingers his bow and checks his arrows. "Yup, yup, yup; that all sounds good. Choosing Sparky probably wouldn't be a good idea since he may make things up again." Jackson glances to see Sparky frowning and beginning to sulk though he had to acknowledge that Jackson was most likely right in his reasoning. "Perhaps Jay?" Jackson looks to his friend.
"I'd be honored to." Jay nods, agreeing to judge. Lunar flutters close by, landing on Jay and squawking in the way stellar's jays do. Jay carefully pets her, whistling a measure of a merry tune in response.

'It should be interesting. It'll be a bummer to not be able to watch, it is true. Maybe we can convince Orion to do so.' Barnabus looks for the bird with keen vision and asks him to tell them what happened when they came back.

(I would be ok with that. I may control one, we'll have to see if you need me to control one when your idea comes into play later on.)

Orion* lands in a tree nearby, Don't mention that I'm here to anyone else and we have a deal.
Scarlet agrees quickly as Aashia calls her into passive state.
Quickly Orion flies out of range and watches the contest begin.

Ashia nods once, "Alright then would you like to shoot first? Remember five arrows."
Justin glances up at the sky before looking down range to watch the compitition.
