Mao's eyes softened, "You got any family back there?"

"no" she whimpered

Mao nodded slowly, " You remember where he lives?" He paused holding up a paw, "I'm not going to make you go back to him, I just have to report abusive owner activity to Brutus. That's his jurisdiction. He can probably help you find new people while he's at it."

She nodded and started walking to her home taking tiny steps at a time "so who are you?" she stared asking questions

The black feline smiled, "Detective Mao Black. The city's only feline detective. When business is slow I dont mind lending Brutus a paw though."

They came up on a tiny broken down house with tiny dogs barking and men yelling at them to shut up "here we are" she sighed sitting down "hes breeding them in there then treating the horrible" she rolled on her back

Mao stared at the place memorizing all the details he could. Finally with a small nod to himself he jumped down from the fence. He brushed his tail along the pups shoulder, "Well come along pup...er you got a name?"

"My mommy named me Scarlet sir" she said waddling next to him her ears drooped over her face a little

"Well Scarlet you'd best follow me. Brutus wont be off shift with his human yet. Might as well take you somewhere you can get some chow while we are at it. I cant have a starving pup roaming around when I'm supposed to be on patrol."
