Ea looked up, as the final warg fell. She breathed a sigh of relief, looking around, seeing the final wargs retreating. She looked over to Daniel, becoming a bit afraid of his powers. He could use it for whatever, and it did not seem to have any setbacks. Ea shook her head, then spoke up. *We need to gather the meat from the wargs, just in case we get stranded in the forests between the Keeps.* Ea walked over to the warg at Daniels feet, then started cutting into the wargs fur.

Daniel nodded, making a face. "I guess so. Doesn't sound very good though." He went to the next one, pulling out a very small knife from somewhere. He ripped a strip off the remains of his shirt and tied up his bitten hand with it, wincing several times. Once that was over, he started trying to skin his warg. It was quite difficult, given the size of his knife. He cut the fur near where he wanted to get under the skin, trying to get close enough to the skin that the remaining fur wouldn't get in his way. He was getting hungry. Fire took energy, and whatever rush he felt when the wargs attacked was more than gone now. He finally got under the warg's skin and slit the entire body throat to tail down the belly. The skin was quite attached to its warg and didn't come off easily. He glanced over at Ea to see how far she was coming along, and his eyes widened at her progress.

Ea shaved off the fur, careful not to dull her dagger on it, then collected the meat. Ea looked around, trying to find something to put the meat in, eventually settling on the satchel of one of the others. She walked over to the man, he was quite tall, with a bit of stubble on his chin. He was wearing the clothes of a commoner, and had quite a large satchel. A look of fear flashed across his eyes as Ea approached him.

Daniel retrieved his own bag, watching to see how this played out. Would he freak out and try to kill her, or would he freak out and break down? Daniel stood nearby, ready to intervene if need be. The man said nothing until she reached his bag, and then he yelled, "Whatcha gonna do with that, eh, tiefling?" and put his foot on it. Daniel approached, his eyes darkling. "Hey, man, we've all got to eat, haven't we?" The man turned on him, clearly freaking out. He gestured at Ea, as if to say, "But...my satchel!" Daniel put a firm hand on his shoulder. "We need it. There's a bunch of meat needs carrying and she doesn't have a bag. And even with the two bags we've got it'll probably not be enough." His eyes narrowed. "So if you've got anything against the tiefling," he whispered, "you'll keep it to yourself or answer to me." The man glared at Daniel. "Who put you in charge, eh? What makes you so special?" Daniel rolled his eyes and lit his hands up. "I figure, that since I'm a human, and a powerful one, I can lead the rest of the humans, since I can protect them." He let the flames go out and leaned in close to the man. "You got a problem with this, buddy?"

Ea tried to contain her shock, why would Daniel stand up for her? Sure, he had acted nice to her at the beginning, but what did it mean? Quickly, Ea stuffed the meat into the mans bag, shaking her hands out afterwards, the blood was extremely disgusting. Ea handed the bag back to the man, who took it tentatively. *What am I supposed to do with this?* he asked fiercely. *Bring it with you.* Ea replied, then turned and walked away. She did not want to have to deal with this, it would lower the entire group morale, and Daniel was probably better at it anyway.

Daniel roused the rest of the group, saying that they needed to go before more things showed up. They set off in the same direction they'd been going the entire time. Daniel wondered if they were going in the wrong way but he knew if they went in a different direction they'd end up going in circles. There was no path, no signs, nothing to show them the way. He kept walking, until it was so dark he couldn't see his hand in front of his eyes. Then he stopped them, his hands blazing above his head. "Get some rest. You'll need it later." He lit a nearby stick on fire and told Ea to hold it up so he could see them. "I'm going to get wood," he explained, "so we can cook our warg meat."

Ea nodded, somewhat nervous to be left with the people of the Keep. She wrung her hands together, looking around the group. Mistrustful and sorrowful, angry and scared, a big range of emotions was visible around the group, but none of them positive emotions. Ea sat down on a stone, not wanting to go over to the man with the warg meat for fear of being attacked. He seemed to be an angry man, devoid of hope. Ea was fine with killing people or creatures that were her enemies, but she would be spending a long time with this man, and she did not want to get on bad terms so soon in their journey.

Daniel used his hands for a light to see by, and found surprisingly few sticks. There weren't many trees nearby, and he resignedly gathered up what little he found. He returned to the light Ea was holding to start their pitifully small fire. He arranged the sticks so they'd burn slower and took the makeshift torch from Ea, dropping it into the mix. A small blaze soon lit a six-foot circle. Daniel pulled out a couple pieces of the warg meat and held them over the fire. He looked up at Ea, getting rather uncomfortable. "Do you have anything I can spike these on? They're starting to burn my fingers."

Ea looked around, spying a particularly sharp branch on the tree. That is strange, she though for a second, then broke the branch off and handed it to Daniel. She looked around awkwardly, scanning the forest to see if there were any undead lurking in the bushes. Ea twiddled her fingers as the meat cooked, and considered whistling, then deciding against it.

He spiked the meat and sighed in relief. "Thanks." The meat finished just about the time the sticks ran out and the fire started to die. Daniel cut it up into a lot of small pieces and went around doling out a few pieces to everyone, including Ea, until there was only a little bit left, and then he ate. It was tough, stringy and had an unpleasant flavor but it was better than nothing. He decided they probably shouldn't be moving at night if they could avoid it, a moving for in this wasteland would attract everything within scent of his fire. He told everyone to get some rest, even Ea. "I'll take first watch."
