Alec's own face was even more red then a cranberry. He could feel the muscles of the other ripple as he moved and it made him squirm with discomfort. Yes, they were so close; the man's breath smelled faintly of day old alcohol, but the mage didn't find it disgusting. He covered his face with his hands out of embarrassment as Gale tried to get up, only to discover their clothes had somehow become entangled. This couldn't be happening. He'd sworn off love, it hurt too much when it wasn't returned, or that sensitive part of your soul was broken. Being lonely was just one defense mechanism, especially after that time... He uncovered his face and snatched at the button snagged in his robes. He gave a harsh tug and they came apart. He pushed at Gale, wanting him off. He needed to breathe, he needed to think. "I'm sorry, I can't!" He exclaimed. "It's not you, it's me! We've only just met and I don't understand what's happening to me! I haven't felt like this in a long time!" He was so flustered.

As he was freed he sat up, scooting away from the mage to allow him to stand. What was he going on about? "I didn't mean anything by it I promise, I simply tripped is all." Gale answered looking down at the torn button. That would have to be addressed now. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean for that to happen." Hadn't felt like what in a long time? D-did the elf have a crush on him? How?! They just met? Sure he liked the elf but simply for looks, he didn't know this man! If anything it would be a one night deal and nothing more, not until he knew he could trust him. He had been hurt so many times before...he didn't want that to happen again. "I-i should get going." Though his ankles wouldn't allow it. Were they broken? He didn't think so, sprained maybe but not broken.

Alec couldn't understand why he was freaking out like this, or felt an ache in his chest. "I feel like a teenage girl seeing a handsome boy walking by!" He admitted, sensing that the question was swirling in Gale's head. He didn't realize it was basically a confession. "It's fine. I'll be fine." He took deep breaths as he turned back to the human. He only liked him for his looks. It wasn't because the person, who was practically a stranger, had invited him to something in the human town. Or the way he gave a friendly smile. He shoved all that away to the far corners of his mind as he managed to put Gale back on the chair. "You're lucky I took your boots off. You'd have lost your feet by now." He turned and grabbed the ointment, realizing he'd missed a spot. He'd resigned to silence for now.

Again his cheeks took on a bright red color as he sat on the floor still. So the elf thought he was handsome? Did that mean he was...? Well then that explained some things. "That's nothing to be ashamed of." Gale smiled accepting the help back into the chair. As the legs of his pants were rolled up he could see the heavy bruising about his ankles. That would explain why he couldn't walk now. "If it makes you feel better I-I um feel the same. About you being handsome!" He corrected himself. "And maybe not feeling like a school girl...maybe more like a school boy. Y-you know what forget it..." great it was awkward again!

Alec's lips pursed into a thin line as his face became bright red again. He needed to get this man out of his house. Out of sight, out of mind, right? He gently rubbed the ointment on the swollen ankles as he looked at Gale's face. "Hmm.... now you don't have an inflated balloon for a face. It must be working."

He put a hand to his face. The elf was right, it wasn't nearly as swollen now. In fact he could even put the patch back over his eye again. At the piece of leather was fixed over the eye he looked down. He could tell that the mage wasn't happy. Once again he managed to screw things up! And he had managed that by just talking! As soon as he could walk he was going to leave. He would only have to meet the elf once more, well twice more after this. That was manageable right? He couldn't screw that up right?

Alec finished up as he stood. He poked at the fire, seeing that it was starting to die. "I have to go out and get more wood for the fire," he said. He walked over to his cloak on the wall. "Do you read?" He asked. "Be careful. Your answer may make or break whether I go anywhere with you this season."

What kind of question was that? "I read yes? I read the paper every evening, and I'm currently up to date on the Game of Thrones series and The Lord of the Rings. Why?" He did read yes but he was very picky about what he read. He wasn't into politics, or fan fiction. Fantasy was his favorite genre. If it wasn't fantasy he probably didn't read it. Same went for movies and games. It was just something about the sense of magic that seemed to draw him in. He himself couldn't comprehend magic yet he was still fascinated by it.

Alec nodded. He knew the Lord of the Rings series, but the other one was a mystery to him. He walked over to one of his tables crammed with books and pried out a thicker book. He didn't know what it was; he hadn't had time to just read for fun. All the books he read were spellbooks. He handed the book to Gale. "Entertainment," was all he said before pulling on his cloak and heading towards the door.

He gave the book a questioning glance. So he was expected to read this? But it as a spellbook. For one he couldn't read it, secondly why would he read it? There wasn't a point of him reading it he couldn't understand it anyways. So he sat there, watching the dying fire and looking around from where he was stuck in the chair. There sure was a lot of stuff here. His own home was pretty bare compared to this one, with his half used television and single couch. He did have a dinning table though which was a plus! Which reminded him, he needed to go shopping for their dinner when he got back. What did the elf like to eat? Traditionally you are ham, though ham was a bit too expensive at the moment. And what if the elf was a vegetatian? That put a damper on things...
