As they separated a slight kiss was exchanged between them. "But it's still no safe here Dexion, not even for you. I'm expected to kill all magic creatures on site...including you no matter how much I love you..."

Amicus had watched the fire consume the witch with hatred in his eyes. A waste of such a beautiful element. His eyes darted over to the king and he spat on the ground in disgust. Then everything turned to chaos when one of their own was captured, soon followed by Dexion. What he did notice, as the observant person he was, was how the other elf didn't resist as much. What was that idiot doing? He took a step forward to rescue him, but a shorter, stouter guard blocked his path. So he turned and fled, an arrow struck his shoulder, but it didn't stop him. He saw Mira running from a guard; usually the werewolf could outrun even the fastest creatures, but it was crowded with people who had come to watch the witch burn. He darted over, pushing people out of the way, ignoring the agony of an arrow in his shoulder. He managed to get there just as Mira passed and spoke a thickly accented word and flinging an arm out. A wall of fire cut off pursuit and he ran after Mira, escaping.

Mikesha was angry that he hadn't caught the fire mage. He had managed to hit him with his arrow, but it wasn't enough. Now he was stuck guarding the entrance to the dungeon, short sword in hand. He knew the king expected the magical creatures to come for their friends. So being prepared was crucial. He was soon relieved of his guard duty, his shift ending. He decided to go and see if the king was available. The two of them knew each other for awhile, and Mike hoped he'd found favor with the king. He just wanted to ask the king a few questions. This whole thing about preventing a war.... it didn't really make sense. The magical creatures hadn't waved war on them yet. In a way, weren't they the ones declaring war? He discovered that the king was still busy with the elf, so he took up a post outside the door. He saw no guard there, which he thought silly. Surely it would be expected for an attack to also come here?
