Part of what I do, help her with her homework. lol It's usually not bad. She's only 11, so the worst part is getting my brain to focus enough.

Vial is sent. :)

It's pretty easy. I did well in school and read a lot in a lot of areas, so I usually don't have much trouble figuring things out anyway.

The worst is figuring out why they over-complicated the math. XD

Ikr? Its crazy, Then the argue like will you need it for the future you to maths in life thats true we do but when I would solve word problems and get the right answer I still couldnt pass because I couldnt figure out the function of X plus Y was so crazy

Even when my nephew was a senior, I could do his math a lot faster w/ better accuracy than he could - but I couldn't explain it to him how he needed to do it because they counted it wrong if you didn't use the 'new' method.

That's frustrating for me to think about. Must have been really frustrating for you. :/

Oh yes, i was honor roll student and managed it with cs and ds in math. It was frustrating for the same reasons you mentioned.

Its sad isnt it? A simple method made way over complicated :/

Exactly!

I'm cool with change if it improves things, but when I can use the 'old' method to find the answer before a senior in high school could.... then it makes me doubt the veracity of their claims that the new way is so much better. If we can't see that difference in a senior, how far in math do you have to go before the new way is so much easier?

Society in general in our time complicates things so much.

Even art and what is considered good art and what is bad art? In whos opinion?

I watch a show on direct tv in the tru channel. Called adam ruins everything, its a cool show where the tell the truth about things many people either dont pay attention or assume is right without thinking twice

I watch that show, too! :) I actually started watching it years ago on YouTube, and sometimes watch it on Netflix now. :)
