"All soldiers once started off as novices as does most everyone. We can train soldiers to fight, give them the protection they need, and a chance to survive this. But they must be given a chance. That chance can only be given if we are able to gather them from the clutches of darkness and give them a chance. It might take a while though if we work hard enough at it it will work in our favor. I suggest we start by walking to the next village. We can help those along the way as well as those once we get there." Taz said looking to the others, again feeling his face blush as he looked at his fellow mages. "Then we can work from there."

(Hopefully ours get along *hint hint nudge nudge* only if you want to of course :P)

Amicus's cloudy expression turned into a smile. "Exactly!" He exclaimed. "If we don't even try, then why are we even here? We must work rd for this victory." He gave Taz an approving nod, noticing once again that he was red in the face. He decided it might be the cold and dismissed it. "Who do we tell our plan to?"

((I'm perfectly fine with it. Though, I'm making Amicus a bit nave at the moment))

"For now just those over the army since we seem to be pretty much in charge." Tax said before straightening the best he could. Again he felt his eyes land on Amicus, and the same hotness creep up his ears and cheeks. Why was he like this?! Couldn't he see there was more at stake here?! Though he wasn't able to look away, and even once made a move to get closer to the young man. It wasn't right, this wasn't right. They had work to be done. This was no time for romance. "But for now we should rest and prepare for the long road ahead." He could hardly hold a staff up at this point there was no reason in moving on yet.

"I feel you are misunderstanding me. I am not saying we should not try. Yes, i agree without trying we will surly be lost. I am merely trying to convey to you that if we get our hopes up only to find no survivors, we will be even more hopeless then we are now. I have learned through many years to expect nothing, and I will never be let down. I do not mean to tell you to give up, just don't fantasizes." she leaned forward a bit "Also consider this, how long does it take to train troops. Even the most elite men take weeks. How much time do we have before there will be no men to train, nothing but darkness. We need to chart a path and most likely leave by the end of the day if you want to have even a shimmer of hope for troops. I am confident that the warrior would be a suitable if not superior mentor for any men and women we find along our journey." she said glancing at the warrior across from her. "I can train archery if the warrior cannot, I have not missed a shot in three years. I don't suppose you mages have anything of value to teach any we do happen to find. That is, if any villagers were fortunate enough to survive this long." she said looking a bit annoyed at the mages.
(She does not really like ya'll because she does not like magic and it makes her uncomfortable.)

Amicus heaved a sigh of annoyance as he stood and straightened before turning to Ash. "What a dark world you live in, expecting nothing of life except the worst. Have you not been listening to me when I spoke of this next village? It is practically untouched because it is so small, so insignificant at the moment. The chance of survivors has never been so high. I do not have my hopes up. I'm just expecting the unexpected. I dare not fantasize like a child either. But.... are you going to chastise us like children just because we choose to be hopeful? Of course we expect training to take time. I myself will teach the women to fight with knives, which is no walk in the meadow. Time is against us, but we have the strength to beat it. We just need some more rest, then we will move out in the morning. We dare not venture into the night when the enemy is strongest."

((Haha, yeah. It'll be great character development when they finally accept one another for their differences and such.))

"why try to see light in a world full of darkness? Why look for the good when evil is instinct?" she muttered as she sat back down. Ash pulled out a small necklace from a pocket in her shirt and fiddled with it a bit before saying, "Wait, did you say knife. Magic is not your only means of defense?" perking up a bit as she spoke.
