Asteria din't hear the rest of his sentence due to the loud screech coming from the courtyard "What was that !" Hearing a thud after the loud screech she went to the courtyard were it came from "A feather?'

Avery had barely gotten words out of her mouth before the loud screeching call was heard.
"What could that be?"
Avery's smile turned into a mischievous smirk as she answered turning to the courtyard " Lets go find out" she said the possibilities running through her head just based on the noise It could have been something praying on an owl, or it could be an injured hippogrif, a griffon was less likely but still possible, whatever it was it didn't stop by the courtyard just for fun and games. " What do you two think it is?" she asked curiously

Koda Did not seem startled by the noise as he made his way from the table of professors to guide wayward students back to either their common rooms of the main hall, though he had lost sight of Avery and he was sure without a doubt that she would wander off to find whatever it was like some game of mystery. He knew she could handle herself, his worry was more for the two first years she would likely drag along

Rayne glanced around the courtyard for any signs of anything. "Alright... So let's use what we know so far. A loud noise, a feather. The only creatures I know of that can fly- as that's probably what the source of this noise did, since it disappeared so quickly- are Griffins, Hippogryphs, an Occamy, a Thunderbird, or a type of winged horse." She paused, then continued. "It's not a Thunderbird, as that would be rather obvious. And a winged horse would not screech."
(Sorry about that, Rayne is just a very analytical person lol. Also she specializes in Care of Magical Creatures and Magizoology... There's a high chance she's wrong tho, because I haven't read HP in years and I don't remember many creatures)

"Something that's probably magical, and potentially dangerous" Tess suggested, nervous, but seemed fully willing to go with Avery to investigate. She stood up, looking around "Are... are we allowed to go? To investigate?" Tess asked, not wanting to get in trouble on the first day.

Avery shrugged as they entered the court yard a couple of students already looking around " Probably not, But I't highly unlikely you two will get anything more than a scolding... if that" she said seeing Yuki trot off probably to report to her brother. She scanned the skys first for any movement before looking at the ground from the steps where she had a better view to see if it had left any marks on the ground or a lead to what direction it had headed.
(Wanda are you going to rp supplemental like environmental details? don't want to get ahead of myself XP)

Emerie picked at her food nervously trying to keep a low profile. She glanced at a couple of students but averted her eyes before they could see. (Open to interactions)
(My ping isn't working, it doesn't let me ping everyone, keeps saying user doesn't exist even tho I checked 20 times that I spelled everything correctly)

Tess followed behind Avery closely, looking around for anything unfamiliar or out of place, which, to her, was a lot of things. "Do you see anything? What are we even looking for?" Tess asked, curious as to what exactly she was supposed to be finding
