Blue finished reading the newspaper. She looked behind her and saw several people who seemed to have been smacked in the face by her wings. She sighed. Oops.... she mumbled.

"Yeah, it's a scimitar," she said, relaxing again. "Huh, that looks like it can pack of punch," Ames said, raising an eyebrow in approval of the hammer.

(I was trying to remember the word approval for a solid five minutes. All I could think was approvement and I was like 'that doesn't sound quite right'. XD)

"It really can. You have no idea how helpful it is when trying to chop trees, it takes one well aimed hit and the tree just falls over." I don't mention how good at crushing skulls it is, not wanting to come off as gore obsessed.

Ames glances down at her scimitar that had never been used for anything but injuring people. "You could say your hammer arbors quite a bit of power," she said. "Get it?" she said, laughing at her own terrible pun.

"Oh god, you remind me of my little sister, Kiri," I say, chuckling slightly.
"She was overly obsessed with puns."

"She sounds like she has an un-kiri-ble case of pun making," Ames said, noting that she had used was instead of is, but she didn't say anything.

"Had. Had an un-Kiri-ble case of pun making. She would've liked that one." I don't really want to talk about how she died. Whenever I tell it, everyone ends up laughing. It's not that funny.

"Well I'm glad my sense of humor would appeal to somebody," Ames said, not bothering to say she was sorry because what good would that do.

"How's the cucumber?" I ask, wanting to change the subject.

"Good!" Ames said, giving her a thumbs up. "Now I definitely need to visit your greenhouse," she said with a grin. "If you have a cucumber theif in the next few days it definitely was not me," she said.
