It was almost as if they were in a graveyard. At Lady Glacier's words, the atmosphere in the room had changed - where it once was akin to the bright outdoors on a cool, breezy day, it was now similar to a dark, stormy night. The griffi's words lay heavily on the minds of the four, two of which were pondering on who the culprit was, where as the other two...
"Who was it! Who was the pup?" A nearly urgent tone filled Cocoa's voice as he scrambled to his feet, body tensed. He knew a few streets - they weren't nice to him, but he couldn't help but feel an obligation to be concerned for them. And heck, he grew to like a few even if the feeling wasn't mutual. He just didn't want the one who had passed on to be one of them...
"The main question now, however, is who did it and why... Lady Glacier, I can assure you that none of us in this room carried out the act, and so for now I cannot say who was the perpetrator. However, what makes you so sure it's one of our group? That it's one of the tames? Perhaps a human had left the poison out for rats, as it is used for, and the pup wandered off and mistook it for food?"
Questions and scenarios raced through Celestial's head. Would a street sylesti kill their own and blame it on the tames? Highly possible, considering they had her in their group. But what if it was really a tame, and not just an accident? But.. what would cause a sylesti to do that? She knew the tames were not fond of the streets, neither was she, but she had yet to come across one of her own who seemed capable of doing such a deed. Or perhaps... she simply had not looked closely enough. Maybe there was a sylesti in the tames who could do such a thing. Or perhaps it was a prank gone wrong - her eyes turned to Kaseki, who returned the gaze with a scowl.
No, couldn't be him. He may have liked pranking others, but she knew him enough to know he'd never do that. But maybe another prankster? The tames tended to be mean to the streets, pranking them, insulting them, fighting with them, so it wouldn't surprise her if the motive was revenge, or if it was simply a prank gone wrong. But... no, it was no use thinking so far deep now, she didn't have enough facts.

Lady Glacier paused in her pacing at Cocoa's question, her icy spikes still flushing brightly with blood. The colors were starting to fade, however, as her anger started to dissipate. It was highly unlikely that any of the Sylestis gathered had the time or the smarts to pull off something like this. They would also need access to the poison. But being a mother herself, the crime struck her hard, and made her fear for the safety of her own son.
"His name was Jax. His mother was a female Zolnixi by the name of Roxy." Although the two had never met, Tiger had divulged the full details of the mother's pain to Lady Glacier when they had spoken earlier, and it was almost too much to bear. If only she didn't fear putting Tiger in danger by coming forward as his mate, she would try to help the poor mother. "The circumstances lead me to believe that it was murder, Celestial. A few weeks ago, one of the tame Sylestis, a Puffadore I believe, was hit by a car after it had been chased by the street Sylesti. I believe it was a revenge killing, but to take it out on a child..." Lady Glacier's voice trailed off.
"I--I'm so sorry, Lady Glacier," Lilly murmured. "I'll try to talk to Flower about this, maybe she'll know more about it. Have you talked to Tiger, yet?"
"We spoke this morning, when the pup went missing, and later after his body was found." Nodding, Lilly turned to Celestial and the others.
"Maybe we should ask some of the other Sylestis if they knew anything about this? Or, maybe, where they were when it happened? I'm just afraid that the street Sylestis may want to attack us..."

Pacing the camp, Ethereal sighed drastically, knowing that Tiger was right.. A frontal assault in return will only cause mayhem.. "Tiger, what do you think we should do about this, if I had my way they'd be dead already, but you think more clearly. What should I do?" The old Ryori looked to her ally for answers, she didn't want to plague her adopted family with even more tragedy.
She flicked her spectral tail wisp as she stood tense and alert, almost as if her body told her someone was watching..
(Sorry for taking so long, projects on here overwhelm me as well as two girls and a home to look after xD)

Tiger watched the other female pace, reminded of his own mate, Lady Glacier. She took the news hard this morning, as if it had been one of their own lost. They had a new tiny daughter now, too...he hated to think it, but he feared for her safety.
"If I may, Ethereal...perhaps the best thing we can do right now is wait."

She knew he was right, of course. "Okay, I want to go take a walk.. If I'm needed call for me, you know how." She looked down at her claws and sighed, "I'm not fond of the war that has begun, but what they do to us out of spite is intolerable. This will get justice.." Her glowing, luminescent orbs flared with a moment of anger before she turned, her astral form fading into the shadows as she padded off into solitude.
If I don't do something I'm failing them all.. But if retaliate.. I'm a monster?
Her mind swirled with unknown answers and questions she had none but herself to ask. She shifted among the shadows, gracefully scaling garden walls and rooftops. She knew this place well, she landed her hazy form down on a front porch. The lights glowed above her, cover gone but her form still a mere shadow itself. She listened to the voices within, her spectral ears twitching at their voices. 'Pets'.. Comfortable and warm.. She put her paws upon the window and gazed through, the sight I the gathered pets made her breathe in and her body to dissipate almost completely. She watched with glowing eyes as they conversed.
