That's actually slightly disappointing ._.

I was hoping I could do well with a good strategy but if it's all just in the luck then that kind of bugs me.

I'll probably end up doing that then, but I'm going to go ahead and keep testing different trait setups against one another. At least until I have four visible traits and then maybe I'll mass breed against that...

Yes, unfortunately it is heavily luck-based... but that makes it that much more satisfying when you're successful!

You can ask around, I'm sure there are other methods you might prefer but I find the mass breeding method works best and gives you the best chances to breed what you want eventually.

Nevertheless, I really appreciate your help. It's nice having someone to talk to and it's very nice to have someone to explain these things to me. There's a lot to keep track of, and the whole inbred thing scares me into being more organized than I'd imagine most people would care to

Right now inbreeding has no effect on this game, and I don't believe Krin/Fai will change that... but I can see why it would scare you away.. seeing as how in real life it's frowned upon. :P

It is definitely do-able. If you are avoiding inbreeding and using regular essences, I believe you'll need 16. If you're using enhanced/mystical you'll need 8.

If you're using pets that are not generated, but you don't want your final outcome to be inbred make sure you check the lineage and look at the inbreeding of the pets you're using. I guarantee most of the pets on this site are inbred.

I don't know how much it will help you get an idea of how the mass breeding method works and turns out, but here's my breeding project thread. I don't really document much... but you can look at my pets lineages and maybe get an idea from that.

I think I want to avoid inbred-ed-ness more for sentimental reasons. I want to look back over their lineage with a sort of pride. I'd be happy with even a clean cut four vis, 0, 0, 2, 2, 2, 2

I'm also naming all of my own Ryoris after Egyptian names to match the theme ^^'

Very into this.

Yes, it gets addicting and intense. ._. You wouldn't think so, but yeah.

Anyway, good luck with your projects. :) I'm always here for help!

Update on the Anubis project

I've decided that I'm going to follow FForFox's recommended method which involves mass breeding. I've made the choice that I will obtain and breed three ryoris with the 1,1,1,1,1,1 scheme and just switch out offspring that have higher schemes (1, 1, 2, 1, 1, 1) with their parents. Sadly, and to my discontent, this will almost definitely rely on some inbreeding between every other generation (first with third, second with fourth), but it is the quickest method and most reliable method of obtaining a six vis pet. I will consider making a inbred-less four-vis ryori after this project is completed in order to maintain my good conscience.

*5 blank ryoris purchased, three females and one male. I plan to use them to selectively breed certain traits so that I can obtain three three-vis ryoris with which to breed another three or more vis ryori (with traits that the other lacks) in order to guarantee a 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1 scheme. In the best case, I'll get one male and two females.

*Breeding network established. I now have a breeding network of 9 Ryoris, the owners of six of them are willing to donate their services to me for free and three of which require a small to medium gold payment.
-Special thanks to Kalores, Lexcrow, Kittydo, Macdragon13(inactive), and Tekumeku.

*I have also purchased two additional Ryoris, one male and one female, both with scheme 002110, from Loonamoon. They have been named Omar and Oma respectively. Thank you to Loonamoon for allowing me to purchase them.

My biggest threshold right now is just waiting for each of my ryoris to mature. Nepherti has like 7 days left after being generated and fed a magical pie. All of the blank ryoris I purchased are adolescents, who I'm hoping will mature within the next 7 to 10 days. Omar and Oma are both adults, but I kind of think of them as being brother and sister, and it would be more effective to breed them with the inverse of their traits, as it would be a better chance of getting three vis offspring, which I need.

Anyway, thanks for reading this. Feel free to ask questions or point out things I could be doing better.

Alright, impromptu update.

Turns out I fail a bit. I didn't realize that those 'blank slate' ryoris were just regular ryoris which hadn't been genetically tested. So fail there. Now I have a bunch of ryoris with random traits that I don't need.

How best to deal with it...
They probably don't have much resale value, and they are taking up quite a bit of room in the stables.
Should I host a giveaway or donate them to an already existing one? The pet shelter for instance?

Anyway. I'm excited that I've bred my first two eggs. Ideally they'll both have 002220, but if there's a one mixed in, I might be able to work it out with the next generation or else just breed again. I now understand why having so many females is important. Waiting 7 days between breedings is extremely inefficient.

I generated a second Ryori, named Dante, whose color scheme matches the design's. His trait structure is 110002. I'll mate him with Nepherti and hope for a 111111 scheme. I realize that I want the parents of Anubis to have as close to a 222222 scheme and Anubis colors as possible so that I get reliable 6-vis Anubis offspring.

There's a lot to be said, but little in the way of progress. Hopefully there will be good news once these two eggs hatch. And then I'll just repeat the process while I wait for Nepherti and Dante to mature.
