Yep, Rikone, that is xD If you are using GIMP, it will save as transparent - it just looks like checkered stuff in the actual thing. I use GIMP regularly; I could teach you want I know if you'd like.

If you'd like to use a background just while drawing, create a new layer with a whatever bacground (I'd say white) and place it UNDER the transparent layer - then draw on the transaprent layer. Then, when you are done, save the xcf file, "hide" the background layer, and then export the image.

Oh yes please, pretty please?! With cherries, chocolate, nuts, and all that jazz. ;D I've been going about it slowly, but GIMP and I have an understanding. It doesn't PO me too bad and I don't hum it and my computer at the wall. XD When you do that won't the white uncolored parts be removed? Like the whites of the eyes would then be checkered, right? o.o! Or will it stay the same?

I watched a tutorial where this one girl made the new layer, removed the alpha channel and used that process for all of her coloring and shading. XDD It's what I did with Ms. Flute's drawing. I'm still trying to get used to what kind of layer goes where/ how and why. ;3

If you wouldn't mind teaching me some GIMP how-tos, then I would be willing to draw you a separate picture from Mirabelle, as payment for your time? :3

Anytime you are available is no problem to me. I tend to have erratic hours though because of my husband and my little girl, so apologies in advance. I sure do appreciate your willing to help me out. Youtube tutorials are great and all, but by the time I'm finished watching the 10+ minute videos...I've already forgotten how they did everything in them.
