At the appearance of the elf, Zenaku froze. Dumbfounded by the fact that, she didn't notice the elf so near earlier. Nor was able to see her with her eyes.. Then again the elf did come from a blind spot. "Curse the luck of the males.." Shaking her head, Zenaku listened to the elf speak. "This Zhen looks a lot like the elves from my own world. Though.. Since she said she was from another. I suppose she might be different.." Zenaku thought back of the elves in her planet. Lean, clever, and two-eyed. Her father hated them with a passion, while herself. Didn't particularly like nor hate them. Zenaku blinked at first at the sight of the small dragon. She wondered if the dragons of Zhen's world were pets for the elves. Though the idea of being a pet.. Caused Zenaku to shudder inwardly in unease. After seeing the young dragon nod however, the uneasy feeling went away and she nodded back at Koji, while her second mouth offered him a small smile.

The news of there being others around eased Zenaku's mind a little bit. The more there are the more chance of someone knowing what was going on. Though.. Perhaps this elf knew something..? Zenaku tilted her head when Zhen offered a drink. Zenaku opened her mouth to ask a question, however she stopped when Ryoku spoke the question instead. Zenaku was of course, suspicious but... If the elf was stuck like they were as well. Then there would be nothing to gain form tricking or poisoning them. Unless this elf actually was able to eat them.. Then.. There would be a point. Zenaku's second mouth stuck out it's tongue at the thought before closing enough so only a red zig-zag pattern cloud be seen.

Zenaku watched as Zhen took out a canteen and drank form it. Indicating that the elf was aware of the suspicion. At least this Zhen was nice enough to help prove the suspicions wrong.. More or less. However, Zenaku did not reach for the canteen. Water didn't particularly interest her as she wasn't thirsty. So instead she decided to watch the elf's actions a bit more. So far the elf didn't seem to have any alternative motives. Zenaku blinked at Zhen as the elf apologized for eavesdropping and explained why she did so. Zenaku shrugged. It was understandable. Safety before action many had said before. Zenaku's curiosity was perked when Zhen mentioned something about an oath to the young dragon's mother. But seeing as Zhen stopped speaking of it when the young dragon came back, it was obvious that it was not a topic to be spoken of in front of the young one. So instead Zenaku decided to ask about something else.

"Were you also suddenly brought here with no idea as to why?" Zenaku figured she might as well ask. Since it was the topic of the day.. Was it day here or night? "If there is no sun. There might not be a moon.." Zenaku pushed the thoughts aside. Deciding to figure that out later. "Also.. Have anything that's alive or slightly alive..?" It felt very... Awkward to ask such a question. But.. Although she was hungry.. It wasn't in the way that these two would be. "I'm not going to just sit there and ask. 'Hey can I devour some of your emotions..?' That... Would end badly.."

(( I guess I should ping you, since Lotsu and Zrika -thank you two btw XD- placed my char near you guys. This may not be needed to read though...))

The animals froze at the sudden sound, prompting Alabaster to do the same. The Kiyuva stilled, sending a shadow to deliver his next instructions - hide. The animals swiftly pressed against bushes and trees, whatever they could find. Their pelts were rather obvious in the forest's green, but at least they didn't stick out like a sore thumb.

From his position atop the tree's branches, Alabaster could easily make out the male figure's lips, following them to make out what he was saying. However the beast was another matter. With its back turned to him, he couldn't even see the beast's face, and had to rely on his feathered friend.

The bird was perched atop a branch, directly above the shadow that was the Kiyuva. While Alabaster could probably just listen in on the conversation - he'd done so before, his hearing being just as sharp as the bird's - his head was still pounding slightly, and he didn't trust his senses too much. As such he left the hearing to Longfeng, whilst he re-evaluated his abilities by assessing how well he could read the male's (at least he believed that to be a male) lips.

It wasn't long before a third figure joined the conversation. This one had the feature of a female elf, but was she really? She didn't smell like any elf he knew, but then again, perhaps she was from a tribe or village his clan had yet to find. The other two... their scents were unidentifiable. While it piqued the assassin's interest, they weren't the ones to attract Alabaster's attention. That feat went to the elfish female, who had seemed to be able to sense him and his companions.

"Ickudjadys... Vfroves kweyakj vwep owfebu." His form grew denser, and his body was soon pitch black, soft just like the shadows he had came from. "They used this speech, did they not?" Longfeng's head bobbed in reply to the whisper, and Alabaster was content with just watching the scene. Yet, perhaps it would be best to get down? No, he needed more time to assess these beings. With that, he readjusted his form's density, once again becoming a patch of shadows.

Ryoku listened as she spoke in response. At the same time he analyzed her and the small dragon further taking in account what she had to say. Much like Zenaku he had been uneased at the idea that the dragon may have been a pet. Seeing such a being as a mere pet urked him, but after her explanation he felt more at ease. She seemed trustworthy at the moment. After all they all seemed to be in the same predicament. But it never hurt to be careful. Trust was something to come later, for now he was going to be play it safe.

He didn't recognize the names of the substances she listed. They might be similar to something of his world with different names so he just sighed. "I appreciate the offer." He guessed her offering was much like a peace offering or it seemed so. If so he didn't want to decline, he didn't wish to decline. He debated with himself for a bit before he nodded. He was hungry he didn't see any harm. He would just have to keep a close eye on whatever it was as well as his body once he ate it. "If your offer is in such kindness I will accept it. If any you have listed is red meat, I will take that..."

He glanced back over to Zenaku as he spoke. The questions were something Ryoku would of asked sooner or later as well and it was best of they all knew eachothers circumstances if they were possibly going to understand why they were here. He then seemed slightly confused at the second question that followed. Ryoku was a predator as well, but there was still no fun in killing something you hadn't hunted yourself. Why else then would Zenaku wish for live prey? It rose another area of curiosity in Rai as he looked between the two of them.

He stood there for a moment as he waited for the elf's answer to his question, but again he got that odd feeling...like they were being watched. Someone was close and it killed him that he couldn't sense their location. He nonchalantly glanced around as if he just did so out of spite, but his eyes looked closely for something hidden there in the shadows. And for a moment he saw it. A solid black structure that looked much like the shadows surrounding it, but he had only seen it in his peripherals and when he tilted his head back to focus on it it was gone as if it joined back with the shadows. He took one more look around before he focused back on the elf, wondering if she had sensed it as well. He felt that she had, but wondered if she would say anything.

Zhen

Zhen removed a fold up grill from her pack, and placed the tea kettle she'd filled with a packet of Jasmine tea and willow bark on to boil while she listened. If anything about the situation bothered the elf, Zhen gave no clue to it; though in truth she was just as unnerved by the whole thing as the others where. Thankfully she had a meal to make. She could focus her energies on that; until they could find out more about the situation they were in.

"Venison it is then," she smiled politely to Ryoku, and pulled the package of venison steaks from her pack.

She knew they would still likely believe she might poison them, so she took her knife and cut a wafer thin trip off the top. Then offered it to Koji, who devoured it and made clicking sounds. Zhen smiled to her companion and replied, "I'm sorry little one, but you must wait for more. It would be rude to eat before everyone else has been served as well."

Koji seemed to sulk, but settled down for the moment. Instead he took a drink from the canteen, and listened to them talk.

Zhen returned her attention to Zenaku, "I'm sorry, but we don't carry live food sources. If you need an alternative food, please elaborate. To answer your first question, yes. We were on our way out of Elven lands when poof!"

As she continued to prepare their meal not looking up, Zhen spoke to all of them, "You are curious to know my talents. How I am able to sense the presence of others, even when hidden, or a long distance away. The answer is simple. One of my gifts is telepathy. This gift allows me to 'see' the minds of other beings without actually having to 'touch' them. After all, if you cannot sense that something is there, you would not be able to touch it... I'm sorry this is such a poor explanation, it's not easy to describe to others."

"There are gifts that enable others to block telepathy, even sensing their minds is impossible while activated. It is also possible that there are items that do the same; though I know of none. My skill in the gift is small, only enough for communication, or sharing knowledge and experiences. Memories might be a better word there. But I would still have to be able to 'see' a mind in order to do those things. It probably irritated my year mates to no end that they could never get the drop on me." Zhen realized Ryoku might not wish his meat cooked and added, "How do you prefer your food? Cooked? Raw? I know you have more questions, I will answer them honestly. You have my word that I will not lie."

It was an added measure Zhen took only so they knew for certain that she would be entirely truthful with them. Normally she would not need to, Elves made terrible liars, most of them saw no need to do so in the first place. Even more so when one is also half angel; such as Zhen. They would not know this, so her word was the best proof she could give them at this time.

Zenaku's second mouth frowned as the elf said that she had no live food sources, however that frown turned into a forced smile when Zhen told Zenaku to elaborate if she needed an alternative food source. "Ha, ha. Uh. No. There is no need for elaborations on that. I was merely asking.. That is all." Zenaku closed her eyes save for four. The top two on her head and the two that were over her second mouth. "Crud it all. I guess I'll just wait it out.. Can't possibly be stuck in this world for a week... Right..?" A feeling of being watched came over her but, instead of looking for the source she just tilted her head at Zhen "However if you have a fruit called an apple I can eat that.." Zenaku wondered if the planet the elf was from had apples. What if it was called something else? "Ack. Too late to try to explain it.. But if she asks
I will."

Zenaku was not too happy about Zhen's ability. But it was useful. It reminded her of her race's eyes. Her father was able to see farther and was able to see those that would come near him before others could. Zenaku curled her tail around her left paw. How she wished she had more eyes! Wait.. Zenaku blinked as a thought came over her. "So that means you can't really 'read' minds right?" If the elf could, then that would be a problem. In more ways than one so to say. Zenaku shook her head. Then just watched Zhen cook while she waited for an answer. At the very least. The elf said she wouldn't lie. So that was a plus in the trust field. Kinda.

Rai didn't know whether to feel better or worse about the fact she had such a gift. At least he knew her senses were not better than his, she had to use this ability in order to sense others, but he didn't like the fact that she might be able to read minds. Due to this he also awaited the answer to Zenaku's question. He then took the time to ponder over the question she asked him. Normally it didn't matter much to him. If he wanted it cooked he could do so himself. His stomach was basically a giant furnace anyways. But he was still going to keep that secret for now. She might divulge her abilities but he wasn't going to be so foolish...if thats what you'd call it. He sighed. "If you cook it, just cook it a little so it is slightly singed on the surface but the inside is still bright red..." he commented curious as to if she could actually cook the meat on such a device. He had never seen anything like it. He glanced back over to the creature again, not as unnerved anymore but definitely more curious about the many eyes and mouths the creature had. What kind of creature would make need of so many extra eyes? It seemed more like a weakness than a strength.
