Myles didn't hear Roxy calling his name, but he did feel the shake and the loud sound from the far side of the castle. "What is going on?" He muttered to himself, hesitating on whether to continue searching for a staircase or to go and investigate the sound.

Roxy didn't hear a response, so she kept running. "Myles?!" She called again.

Silence from the castle. The kind of eerie silence after something collapses. Myles decided to go to the pile of rubble, wanting to find out why it had collapsed. If he could find that out.

She found a door that looked like the area in front of it had been disturbed.
Maybe he had gone in here? That wouldn't be so bad-at least this was relatively far from the collapse.
She thought trying to be calm and logical.


She rummaged in her backpack. She fumbled, pulling out a miniature first aid kit and her key ring with a small working flashlight keychain.
She squeezed through the narrow opening, the bulk of her backpack making the space tight.

Myles trekked on, being careful. Just in case any other part of the castle decided it was too old to stand anymore. Roxy's flashlight lit his way.

Roxy rushed on. For the first time in her life, her previously-injured ankle and the fact that her basketball coach was also the track coach came in handy-(she was pretty good at tracking people while running-long story.)

She eliminated the doorway with cobwebs intact, and the door with a wooden crate sitting in front of it. She kept her forearm out in front of her to protect her face from both spiderwebs and anything else she didn't see in time.

She came into a hall with one door and two other archways coming off of it. She hurried through one. Pfft. Another spiderweb!
She most of it off and tried the other keeping her eyes peeled for any evidence of crumbling stone or unconscious teenage boys. It was darker here, farther from the door.

She tried the other archway.
Finally!
She saw a light about 6 feet ahead. "Myles!"

Myles spun around, finally hearing someone, most likely Roxy, calling his name. He could hear it now that she was in the castle. However, he seriously did not trust this place, so he turned around, scanning his surroundings for Roxy.

The light ahead moved and glared strangely. It was passing through a thick pane of glass-a window inside the building.

She felt around until she was found the doorway to get to the room where Myles was.
She caught up. "There you are! Did you hear that crash? I thought I should check to make sure you were o--" she broke off as she heard more crashing and a horrible howl or whine from the same direction.

He opened his mouth to reply but then the sound of the crash and the howl and/or whine stopped him. "Do you think more and more of it is collapsing?" He asked, turning the flashlight back around to where something else had collapsed. "Think we should get out of here, or what?" He glanced at her.

"Probably," she looked behind her "but it sounds like something-or someone might be hurt. Maybe we should try to help?"
