As the last ligne of the song echoed in the empty studio, he lowered his instrument and slowly pulled the piece of paper he had receaved earlyer out of his pocket. There was so much he wanted to say, so much he didnt know, placing the guitar down he contemplated to call the number on it but he was woried that his voice would crack on the ligne or that he would be rendered speachless again. Instead he resorted to texting one word. "Why?"

She was still out walking when her phone vibrated, she took it out of her pocket and opened her messages. She texted back, knowing who it was. "It wasn't my decision."

He shuckled bitterly at the words on the screen, a big part of him wanted to belive them, to just forget everything and pretend everything was right, after all he did loved her, he still does... he think. Still, to just vanish without a trace, he felt like he had lost her for a long time, a piece of him died that day and now... he just didnt know what to think. Not wanting to leave her on read, or maby too wek to do so, he forced himself to write a reply.

"well, isnt it your life ?"
"you could have said somthing, we though you were dead"
"i though you were dead"

"I wish I could have. I only came back to the city a couple years ago and I didn't remember any of your phone numbers. I still had to stay quiet about it as I am not in a state where I am sure I can safely release that information. I am here now. I am going to come back to the band soon. I promise." She then turned off her phone and put it back in her pocket.

He wanted to belive her, he realy did, but the most rational part of him was pulling the breaks, he shoudnt get his hopes up, he coudnt get his hopes up, he got burned once after all. For now, he woudnt say anything to the band, not until he knew this whole mess was dealt with, he wasnt the only one who had been messed up by the event after all, there was no raison for all of them to get hurt if she fell off the face of the earth again.

"and when will that be?"

She didn't really know what to do, just sitting there at her desk, trying to figure out what happened

She grabbed her phone again and texted him back, "Soon. Very soon. Promise. Please do not let this affect your performance tonight." The band had a concert later that night. Of course she knew about it.

Ah, yes, that... He had almost forgotten what day it was but it realy didnt matter that conversation would still live rent free in his mind for a long time, at least he wasnt the one signing. There was no way he would be able to prevent a voice crack on stage if he was, at least all he had to do was to play the right note. With a deep sigh, he resumed practicing tho his heart wasnt in it and he found himself going back to his previous song a couple of times, unaware that the back up mic was recording everything.

Later that day, Terra turned on her tv and watched the concert from her home. She was proud of her former band mates for being able to perform without her with them. She wasn't surprised that her backup singer had taken her spot either. She was an amazing singer. If anything, she was very proud.
