Ivan gave him a careful, shrewd look,and said, "Ivan was captured on a mission. Like the rest of us."

"Sorry to ask I thought it might a little more interesting," Damon didn't flinch under Ivan's gaze instead looking him in the eyes. Damon's eyes burned with a fire in them, a hunger to hunt for the person he thought was a traitor.

Ivan didn't betray anything with his tone or appearance, but something seemed to say he thought Damon was a spy.
(Let's face it, he seems kinda suspicious.)

(Yeah)

"Sorry,' Damon says, "I've been here for a while, my unit was betrayed. I want to keep that from happening again."

(Again, a likely story. I know it's true, but Ivan doesn't.)
Ivan said, "Ivan believes you."

Damon nods once seriously wondering if Ivan did. Not that it truly mattered to him. Calmly Damon asks for the paper back to stash it.

Ivan gives it back, hoping Damon has enough sense to hide it well.

Damon moves it from its original hiding place under his bed. The rest of the paper under his bed were just poems and such. Not a big deal if they were found.
He lowers his voice, "I'd recommend hiding anything you don't want found before breakfast in case they search."

Ivan said, "They always search."

Damon nods once.
