Jack thanked Sam.

"You're welcome." Sam says and stands.

"We better get going." He said, opening the door and stepping to the side for her to go first. "Ladies first." He said politely.

"Right. Thank you." Sam skips through and asks Ryan if he'd be so kind to put her sketchbook in her room for her. Ryan agrees, and takes the pen from her too, smiling and wishing her luck. She thanks him and then motions for Jack to lead the way.

Jack followed Sam, then lead her to his commanders quarters. He politely knocked, already moving into attention.

Sam watches Jack and pops into attention too, adjusting her form a tiny bit to match Jack's. She turns her focus to the door when someone says, "Come in."

Jack opens the door and lets Sam in first.

Sam thanks Jack quietly and heads inside, a tiny bit nervous now that she was following through with the plan.
"Oh! Jack. What's going on?" The commander asks, smiling at Sam and Jack. Sam smiles back with a shy wave. Then she doubts that's the right thing to do in the situation and puts her arm down again.

Jack closes the door then walks to attention besides Sam. "Sir, I request to discuss the terms of our new prisoner, Ray."

"What about him?" The commander asks, becoming more serious than he had seemed a moment before. Sam shuffles a tiny bit closer to Jack, taking comfort in knowing he was there with her. People with power could be terrifying.
"Uh... Well... Uh..." Sam gave up trying to explain and let Jack do the talking.
