Orion stared at her, then realized he shouldn't have been surprised that she was being so nice. That was just who Jora was. Even when he messed up her art, she just made it better by adding onto it. He smiled at the note, and flipped it over to study the two monsters. Jora, why are you so forgiving and nice even after being teased your whole life? he wondered. He pulled out his sketchbook and pencil and began to draw Jora, holding it at an angle where she couldn't see it. "Your drawing's better than before, except for the wrinkles," he said, wanting to hug her, but refraining due to the number of people around. "I guess you deserve to know why I... ruined the drawing. I had a memory, and I kinda got caught up in it. I crumpled the drawing I did, and I guess that's when I crumpled yours," he was drawing as he spoke. It was a headshot of Jora from the side, her hair cascading around her shoulders, a few stray wisps trailing in front of her face. In the background, he drew the head of a phoenix, aligned with hers, and two huge, fiery wings. She had a bow in her hand, the drawn arrow, level with the head of the phoenix. He flipped over the drawing and wrote in pencil: For Jora, the first person to understand me, and my first friend. Thank you as well, Orion. "I can draw animals and humans better than landscapes," he said, shoving the drawing to Jora.

Ember grinned as the boy handed the girl another picture, before blushing and turning away. A'ine was right. As usual. I'm just glad that he didn't reject her. She was disappointed, and shy now that A'ine was gone, but she reached for her bag, and pulled out a piece of paper. She began to write music notes, trying to arrange them into a song, which always made her feel better, not that she was upset. She quickly became absorbed in writing music, although she wondered if it would sound good. She bent over the book, not looking up, unless someone walked behind her. If someone did, she would turn to see who it was, before resuming her work.

Astrid nodded, "I guess it brings out the worst in all of us, because we're trying so hard to impress other. Trying to keep the people around you happy takes a lot of energy," She was glad to have someone to talk to. I feel bad for Izzy. He obviously likes Aryanna, but she doesn't seem to want to talk to him at the moment. She looks at Izzy, wondering what he was thinking at the moment.

(At least Ember and A'ine have more lines. Orion just has a lot to say and do at the moment.)

Jora was honestly a little scared to flip over the drawing, but she knew Orion wouldn't do anything to hurt her feelings. She turned it over slowly and gasped a little when she saw it. Whispering she said. "Orion this is beautiful......" She stared at it. The phoenix in the background looked normal no bill, no neck. It needs something special for it to hang on a wall in. She thought to herself. "Do I really look like that?" She mumbled to herself under her breath not realizing she said it sort of out loud. She didn't know what she wanted to do more hug him or cry. She restrained herself from doing either, knowing if she hugged Orion she might embarrass him and if she cried she'd embarrass both of them. "You're really something special, Orion. There isn't anyone as nice as you in 200 square miles where I from....." She settled for grabbing his hand and squeezing it gently.
(I honestly can't think of anything else.)

Master Alexander was enjoying watching the children who had mad it into the room. He looked around and saw just one girl without someone to talk to, she was writing but that was different from talking and laughing. He got up slowly and made his way to go behind the girl. "Ember, may I ask what you are writing?" He said quietly, hoping he hadn't surprised the girl.

At her first question Orion said, "Not exactly... I couldn't get the eyes quite right... I would need some color, but other wise, yeah, it looks like you, except not as good. The real thing is usually better than the drawing," he said. When she squeezed his hand, he smiled, and squeezed her hand too. "And there wasn't anyone who understood me where I lived. You're the first," he said, blushing at her compliment. She really does understand me. I would have started a fist fight if I crumpled one of the boy's drawings... if any of them liked to draw. Orion looked at the drawings in front of him. Their drawing styles were totally different, but he had yet to meet anyone who had the same drawing style as someone else.

When Master Alexander spoke, Ember didn't jump. She was surprised, but his voice was calming, and soft. How he had gotten behind her without her noticing was something she didn't know. What do I say? Just that I'm writing music? She looked up, setting her pen down. "I'm writing music, Master Alexander. Well trying to anyway..." she said, scrutinizing her paper. At least I didn't jump. And I don;t think I sounded too nervous. Why do I have to be uncomfortable around other humans? Even when they're half monster.

Jora was insanely glad it had been Orion who sat in that chair in the mess hall. He was so nice and considerate. She blushed as she realized she said the question aloud. "My mom never understood me and my dad was really busy and most of the kids around me would sooner burn a picture of mine then look at it.... My mom always said I was an artist she had to live with what I did for longer, too." She sighed thinking of her mother and the walls of their house. "She cared but never quite understood me." I blush as I say more then I mean to. "Sorry Orion, just the one good thought from home...." She looks back down at the drawing Orion did thinking of what he said was 'a bit off'. "Well, I'll leave you to tell me. I couldn't tell you what I look like for one hundred jars of paint." She realized she slipped up and, blushing, dropped Orion's hand and looked out the window.

Master Alexander smiled at the girl again, "So you like to write music then. Do you play anything?" He asked thinking of his panpipes in his room. (Sorry my thoughts got all jumbled. This whole post probably sucked XD)

Izzy smiled at Astrid. "Yeah, I guess so. But I hope this terrifying hunger she's got for books fades. Loving books is okay, but Ari seems to be obsessed with them. SHE GOT MAD AT ME, FOR AUNT'S SAKE!" He sheepishly grins as he realizes how loud he shouted. He notices Aryanna looking up from her book, and jumps at the chance to talk, trying to include Astrid in the conversation as well.

(Orion and Jora are in a different class.)
