Aww. That was sweet of him. Shed taken them down a dirt road that led deep into the woods; they were at the bottom of a narrow canyon.

He was quiet the while, but soon reached over and gently put a hand to her shoulder.

"We're not too far from the border now, and then itll be desert again," she said, adjusting her seat. "I just thought we could get a couple of hours sleep up here where were hidden, then cross before dawn when theres a little more light--I dont remember exactly where the crossing-place is; I might miss it in the dark."

For once, Vexin didn't care about legal matters.

"Alright." He said, gently moving a few strands of her hair.

"I thought wed go to the Sierra Madre," he said. "There should be someplace safe there where we can hole up and start trying to recruit other AKs."

"Sounds good."

She smiled, glad that Vexin was on board with this

He almost always would be on board with her, he didn't ever want to go against her. And what she planned made a lot of sense.

He leaned over and gave her a gentle kiss to the cheek.
