Jack took them to his quarters so they had privacy from prying people. He closed the door. "They can't... I need your guys's help with getting them out of jail."

Ryan shakes his head, "I bet they're in there for a good reason so I won't be helping sorry." He crosses his arms and leans against the wall.
Sam frowns slightly, "Are they arrested for what Elias was talking about yesterday? Stealing? Did they really do that? The punishment is getting hands chopped off, right? Though if what Elias said is true, and they killed a prince, that could result in death. The king of our kingdom could give Ray to their kingdom to punish them as he wishes and the gift might stop the war... I'm sorry I don't know what I'm rambling on about. Sorry." She shakes her head.

"But... that's the thing. They did steal, but they returned the stuff last night! And that's what got them in trouble." He said.

"Returning the stuff? Last time I checked that wasn't an act you could be punished by." Sam says.
"But the stealing is. Honestly, I don't understand why Ray would do that if they know its wrong." Ryan says.
"Well you know its wrong to tease and annoy me and yet you still do it." Sam points out. Ryan tries to think of something to counter her argument.

"Stealing is wrong, but when they thought about it they found no reason to keep the treature or use it. So they returned it, and I helped them. But... They were caught going back for their bag, and was assumed stealing." Jack didn't want to reveal the whole story to them yet.

"What fool leaves evidence that they're the thief and then goes back for it when they finally realize that they left it?" Ryan asks, in the mood to criticize Ray's work. Sam punches Ryan's arm and he shuts up for the moment.
"Then we have to explain that it was a misunderstanding and people will let Ray go." Sam says, feeling like that would be the easiest way to get Ray back.

"I'm not sure about it..." He said, concerned. "Elias is keen on getting Ray and me punished, and I think if he gets in on this things might go down hill if we try that."

"But honesty is the best policy, right? So if we just come clean it can't be any worse than it is now." Sam says, sitting down on the floor. Ryan was still not sure he wanted to help for two reasons. One, Ray was better than him so if Ray was out of the way, Ryan could have less competition. Two, Ray did something wrong so they should receive the punishment.

"Of course..." He had to admit, Sam was a quite reasonable person. He was glad she seemed on his side.

Sam smiles and nods. "So if we've come to an agreement, we should go tell someone. But I wouldn't know who to tell. I don't think Ryan will help so we can leave him."
"Yup." Ryan nods an affirmative at what Sam had said about him not helping them.
