You headed down to the end of the hall and entered the door there. You were then in a rather large room with floor to ceiling windows on one side, and light would be streaming in if they weren't all boarded up. The room was divided in half by a large curtain, and there were curtains around the perimeter of the room as well. On your side of the curtain there was a large long dining table with candles and plates, four chairs around one side, all facing the curtain. Emily was there, cheerfully talking to the person you could assume was Mr. Riley, Emma looked like she was getting ready something, fiddling with her toolbox.

Mr. Riley:

As you took the last available seat at the table, Emma smiled at you while Emily's demeanor suddenly changed and muttered something to Riley about you being late. Now that you were seated and facing the curtains, you could see that there was an opening in the middle, and you could see a large magnificent armchair facing away from you four. As wonderful as the armchair looked, whoever was sitting in it gave off a dark aura.

Remember to quote!

You exert a lot of strength and finally manage to inch the door open enough so you could squeeze through. The hinges seemed to be broken, which was probably why it was so challenging for you. Inside seemed to be a dining room with a long table and several chairs around it.

Please, please quote! Even my patience has limits, and I am a rather patient one.

It seemed to be a medical slip.

Name: Katherine
Gender: Female
Diagnosed with: Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID)
Notes on behavior and symptoms: Switching of identities at random, amnesia of times in different identities, claims to have blacked out when other identities took over, things learnt in different identities seem to prevail in implicit memory.

Also, narrator is surprised by your reaction to the paper airplane from a diary. You are a detective, and it may hold very special clues... Why did you just look at it and put it away without even thinking about it?

I take out and look at the paper airplane and the medical slip

((Is that so? If you'd like, you can take a few days away from this RPG. I know how you feel with family situations.
I mean, quoting is just pressing the button right next to the ping button...
Anyways, best wishes for you and your family; do not worry, everything will be okay, and hope is still with you.
If you need anyone to talk to during a troubling time, in always here to help.))

They looked exactly the same as before and their contents were the same as before. Thoughts on their contents and stuff?

Could the person who wrote the paper airplane letter be Katherine?

You head to the door and push it open, entering a large, dusty, old room. From your point of view, there was a small fireplace on the right wall, a dusty painting hanging over it, and before it, an armchair. Next to the fireplace, leaning on the wall, was a full body mirror. On the wall directly opposite of you was a large arched window, part of it broken. Through it, you could very vaguely make out a few trees in the night. In front of the window horizontally there was what looked like a very luxurious bed that was in disrepair. Against the wall left of you there was a piano. There seemed to be candles here and there in the room. Other than that, everything was way too dark for you to see anything of detail.

I quickly hurry down stairs and take some of the other candles to transfer the flame too. I also try to light the fireplace in a hope to get more light in the building.

You make it up to the second landing, where two corridors stretch out to forwards and to the right. To the left, a pair of grand double doors. The laughter seemed to have come from the first door on the right in the corridor going forwards.

I head towards the first door on my right cautiously. "Hello?" I call out again.

The candles are in the room, so you light the candles in the room with no problem. There is no wood in the fireplace. After you light the last candle, your lantern sputters and dies out, just in time.

Now that the room is properly illuminated, you could see everything pretty well. Suddenly, the door behind you slams shut and something swoops down from above, spiraling around the room a couple of times before coming to a stop in the center of the room. It was a paper airplane.

The door is half open, it's very dark inside and your lantern throws a tiny bit of light into the room through the crack of the door. The laughter stops abruptly.
