He sees something green move out of the corner of his eye.

he went on all fours and growled.

It's a humanoid figure. She's very tall- maybe a few inches taller than Kira. But, the strange thing is he can't tell her species; she doesn't have the identifying features of any creature he's seen. She also blends into the shadows, only the green highlights in her hair and clothes making her visible against the blackness.

He stared.

She's walking away calmly. Her shoes, though he can't see them, make loud sounds when she steps, like she's wearing boots. Something seems very... off about her, as well.

He followed on all fours.

He suddenly finds they're not in the void anymore.


The grass beneath his feet is a dull grey with just a touch of red, wilted, wispy, and limp, though quite long. The ground beneath is cracked and hard, blackened, and it crumbles apart like sand. The air smells like sulfur and metal, and there's the stench of death and rot with every blow of wind. The place is void of wildlife- the only life here that isn't plants is the strange woman and the few black beetles ambling beneath the grass.

In the distance, he can see mountains. Smoking mountains, with a large black tower a shadow against the masses of clawlike rocks. He's never seen a place this unhospitable and dead in his life, and yet the sight of the black tower in the distance is horribly familiar, telling him exactly where they are;

They're standing in arial territory.
